Cardas Golden Reference upgrade to what? Jallen....At this level, the point of diminishing returns is at play here" I question this statement. I found that ALL cables sound different with different gear...and that it has absolutely nothing to do with cost. ..for instance... I absolutely ...
New Vinyl - "scratchy"? Evaluate the "scratchiness" after playing the record 5 or 6 times. I found that new records sometimes get quieter after awhile. Is this the ONLY record that sounds "wrong"? Is this a new cartridge installation?
HELP-woofer moves alot when playing lps I had this same issue in my system....tore my hair out until someone suggested that it is some kind of RF...from airport, etc. I replaced my cables with shielded ones, and the pumping was gone. ...I'm not saying that is YOUR problem, but it was mi...
Favorite Pre Amp and Amp with Vandersteen? I have an Ayre V1xe amp and a K1xemp preamp into Vandersteen 5A's and are very pleased.
B&w 803s. Vs nautilus 802 I like the Rowlands, and the Vandersteen 5A's, but they don't work well together. Try Ayre or Audio Research...sometimes McIntosh with Audioquest Sky/Everest cables. ...however, I think you should put your money into B&W speakers....I know ......
Balanced / single ended night and day difference Many components sport XLR (balanced) inputs and outputs without really being a balanced circuit to impress their buyers. True balanced, from input from a cartridge to the output of the amp will reveal a much better signal to noise ration, and bett...
B&w 803s. Vs nautilus 802 Bombay...I'm a professional violinist...there is nothing wrong with my hearing and I know what music supposed to sound like. ..just for the halibut, listen to the Maggies, Vandersteens, et all...but better yet...go to some live concerts.
B&w 803s. Vs nautilus 802 Goatwuss...yes they were set up correctly....and yes, they lasted 6 months....too long. After 4 months, the right tweeter needed replacement which B&W paid for...but which I did (very easy).,,but uncalled for with an expensive product. They we...
Cartridge installation I should have said it takes ME lots of time to install a cartridge. New cartridges are constantly changing and a good installation on the first day could be made better by the 5th day.
B&w 803s. Vs nautilus 802 Misssioncoonery, and Rhljazz.....I owned the B&W 802's. I gave them to me as a gift when my wife died. I just loved the looks of them....the top reminded me of a woman's part. I stand by what I said about them....they have a wonderful reputati...
Cartridge installation Chances are, you are better at it than the pros. It takes lots of time to install it correctly....and then check and recheck the results. A pro will set it up to approximate values....the devil is in the details...it may take a few days...a pro is...
B&w 803s. Vs nautilus 802 802 is a better speaker, however, it offers weak bass with little extension, fuzzy mids, and overpriced.
Need a SACD/Redbook player The C5xemp is quite wonderful..especially in balanced config.
Strange Klipsch thing They are VERY dynamic, but have their faults as you state. The big corner horn K-horns playing Marche Slave about 50 years ago at a friend's house, made me an audiophile
Suggestions---Interconnects, Speaker cabling I have Vandersteen 5A's and found Cardas cables severly lacking....no cable is worse. I tried anticables with great success. |
