My new Soundsmith Straingauge cartridge In defense of Rauliruegas (not that he needs MY help)......The s/g cartridge just sounds "different" to me. Yes there are lots of things it does well, but the total sound is not something I personally would want to live with. I thank Raul for brin...
Inner groove "Rumble" ..just a thought but the main bearing that holds the platter needs lubrication or replacement. That's what I would check first
How important is +- 0.1 db from RIAA curve? I am a pro violinist, and my instrument with the same strings, bow, rosin, etc. sounds different in every concert hall I have ever played in. I therefore wonder how important a minor electronic deviation is.
VTF issues I agree with Swampwalker...however...I would have a pro do the adjusting/lub
VPI TNT MkIII - pluses and minuses? ..regarding the SuperPlatter..... if you go to the faq section of the VPI website, it says that the Superplatter is not good.
Fremer's review of the Anna cartridge Diggory/Lewm.....that is MY history with Ortofon....as a matter of fact when I complained to them, they were very accomodating to send me a new cartridge, but it too had a bent stylus.....Even under the new plastic packaging anyone could see that ...
Fremer's review of the Anna cartridge I have personally owned 2 different era's of Ortofon cartridges and have had q/c problems with each of them. I know others that also had q/c problems with their Ortofons. I will not buy anything Ortofon
setting VTF with a digital guage You don't need a digital gauge... The Shure thing gets it approximately right...then use your ears... On the VPI arm use the large Allen wrench to move the internal counterweight (accessible from the hole in the back of the arm tube) back and fort...
Is the V.P.I. Traveler made in China Some people have nothing constructive to do with their time but to bad mouth a company that deserves their success....in providing the high end audio community with value and support of the highest calibre.
VPI is Introducing a high-end Direct Drive Table Yes - The new arm is a drop in for the JMW unipivot. I spoke to Harry about it. The arm is very light, and has no resonance points. I have one on order and their new ceramic platter. I'll post my findings when I get the stuff.
Best value in speaker cables?? If you get Anti-Cables, they come with a money back return. The only way to hear a cable is in your own system....every cable sounds different. I have level 3 Anti's bi-wired.....very pleased, but You have to like your choice.
Phone Preamp help for VPI Scout w Grado Sonota MM I have all Ayre equipment...sure the Golden Ref's took the edge off, as well as the depth, air, and all the stuff that makes us Audiophiles.
Thinking About Upgrading the VPI Tonearm Base I would save my money if I were you. I went from the 9 to 10.5i and the differences if any were hardly recognizable. On the other hand, VPI has a new arm that is actually 3D printed. If you want to upgrade, go there. |
