Speaker input, which one, Magico, Avalon, Yg, Rock YG-Yuk
Upgrading Turntable Personally, I think the Traveler is a great bargain. Also, VPI will absolutely give you supper after sale support, is made in USA, and has great trade-in value when/if you ever feel the need to move on.
Lyra and VPI Scout Hi Jeff...If your cartridge isn't tracking well, sometimes damping fluid helps. Drop in 1 drop of the fluid - if it sounds better to you, drop another, test again, and another. There will come a time when the last drop deadens the sound. Remove th...
Grado Sonata1 Ref Vs. Audio Technica AT33EV Any adjustment one makes to the tonearm (raise/lower the rear end, etc.) means you have to adjust all the other parameters as well (vtf, move the cartridge forward or back in the headshell, check azimuth, etc.)
Most "Musical" sounding speaker cable under $1000 SunnyJim....You have been on this site for a while and must know by now that there is no such thing as the proper cable for any system. EVERY system has to be "tuned" so that the components (and room) have to work together to give you pleasure. I ...
VTF, VTA, SRA, and 92 degrees - question One also must remember that as the record passes under the stylus and rides the slight (or excessive) warps, off centered spindle hole, etc., the VTA, the VTF, the Bias, etc....all the parameters are constantly changing. All we can do is get it "c...
Grado Sonata1 Ref Vs. Audio Technica AT33EV Jwglista....I upgraded to a Benz LP...now I'm using an LPS.
Grado Sonata1 Ref Vs. Audio Technica AT33EV When I was using my Sonata, I thought it was very musical (joe Grado sang at the Met...knew the sound of music). When I upgraded, I realized that the Sonata was grainy, kind of "brown" in character and not very delicate.
Stillpoints Ultra SS feet fit VPI Classic 3? To make it even more difficult, I have Bearpaws under my VPI and love them...they are very large and heavy brass cones. A major improvement
Benz Ebony TR or Lyra Kleos SL? I understand Cvarivey's point very well. The TR is extremely low output and is an extraordinary cartridge, but all the benefits may very well be lost unless you have a superlative phono preamp. If you are willing to get a great pre, you will love ...
Best tonearm for London Reference Cartridge I haven't heard the Decca in years, ...thought the sound extraordinary (don't remember the arm, but was with Audio Research electronics and Infinity IRS speakers) but greatly affected by setup. The cartridge puts lots of energy into the arm. I wou...
VPI 3D tonearm ..Just to pass the time with my 3D arm, not wanting to mount the cartridge, since it is residing very safely in its wooden presentation box, I applied various tuning forks to the arm to try to excite any resonances that might be there....just coul...
VPI 3D tonearm Peterayer....The bottom line is money. SME has a rear counterweight that actually does just what you say. You add or remove supplied lead (i think) shims to ad or remove the weight to provide the perfect rear counterweight to be as close as possib...
has anyone else tried Lloyd Walkers latest tweak What works in one system may very well not work in another. Stereo systems benefit from tweeking to eliminate resonances, and correct faults. That's what the joy of this hobby is....enjoy. |
