Anyone with Hearing Aids
Sabai.....The name of the company is RESOUND. I don't know if they are good or not, but they seem to work well, and don't intrude with my music. I'm a pro musician and that was a prime concern to me.
VPI 3D & 10.5i armwand compatibility
Don...clearly you don't know what your talking about. Instead of making pronouncements that mean nothing, you should find a 3D arm and listen to it compared to any other arm you think is better. You do a disservice to this forum.
blue jeans cable?
I maintain that all cables sound the same....what makes the difference in the ultimate sound is the way the cable reacts with the rest of YOUR system...not someone else's. All cables have to be auditioned in your own system to find out if they are...
Anyone with Hearing Aids
Treehugger....I agree. I just got my aids and the test showed that I am deficient in the highs but my middle and low hearing is pretty good ...(typical for musicians)..... My hearing aids have vented earpieces to allow the middle and low frequenci...
Cartridge or cable upgrade
The Dyna is actually a big improvement over the BluPoint, however, you need better gear to hear the improvement. ...for instance.....I am using the top of the line Anti-Cables, and find them wonderful, however, that last great improvement will pro...

Audio Additives vs Acoustic Sounds Digital Scale
OK Doug...I stand corrected. (I only use one cartridge although I've had many)
solid state integrateds that will hold their value
You should search out the Ayre integrated unit.....
Audio Additives vs Acoustic Sounds Digital Scale
There isn't a need for an electronic scale... I have one, but the Shure is good enough. You get it in the ballpark and LISTEN. The results will tell you if its right or not.
SACD... can you hear the difference?
ZD....as I said in my original post, the way the recording is produced has a marked effect on the sound. I have a Jamie Johnson (my favorite country and western guy) recording on Redbook CD....I also got the LP version for a hoped for sound improv...
Anti-skating- test records vs. ears
It is possible to use a bit of Anti-Skate on a VPI tonearm by twisting rotating the arm wire at its connection (make sure you twist it properly...). It works best with the Valhalla wire which is stiffer to accommodate your goal. My arm uses Discov...
Purist Audio Design
To ME....Purist cables have a house sound of which I tire after awhile.
Anti-skating- test records vs. ears
John Gordon....the reason I don't use anti-skate is because it sounds better with none...that and that alone is the reason. I don't deny the force is with you. Re VTF....every cartridge is built a bit differently, even with the most skilled hands....
SACD... can you hear the difference?
I use an Ayre C5xemp which plays both CD's and SACD (and DVD's too)...anyway, I've come away with the view that both are good and there is little to distinguish between them. Really depends on how it was produced.
Anti-skating- test records vs. ears
Moonglum... If on the 12th track, your cartridge is buzzing, it is set up wrong. I suspect all of the cuts would sound better with more vtf...but.... clearly you can't be talked to....all I said is to test your cartridge and see if it works better...
