Parasound halo JC2 what a joke
good point Geofkait....I had an Alfa many years ago. I saw the Graduate, and had to have the Duetta. It was wonderful when working, but it hardly saw daylight...in the shop all the time.
Are my speakers now the "weak link"?
Most of these responses are just snide cracks. What do you not like about your system... lets take it from there.
Cartridge/arm matching
I agree...the heavyweight counterweight makes a real difference. There is also a gizmo out there for adjusting the VTA. Anyway.....what don't you like about the way your setup sounds as it is?

A much more beneficial adjustment is making sure the azimuth is as close to perfection as can be made. Poor azimuth adjustment will give the listen no indication anything is wrong...but the magic happen with it is done correctly.

Moonglum...surely the sound will change with an increase or decrease of a/s....you're dragging the stylus closer/farther to the magnet or coil. No one can control the a/s that's needed or preferred because the force is constantly changing. Why don...

Doug...beautifully put. I just wonder if those who don't use anti-skate have found that one side of the groove is noisier, than the other. I have records that are 40 years or more older, and play beautifully. I too have removed the a/s gizmo from ...
Jeff Rowland
I remember the 7T's though very good speakers didn't have the bass that I thought it would have, by looking at the speaker. Have you thought of adding a sub?? A powered sub would make the main speaker sound better too.

ricrd...no saracasim intended....I love Wireworld stuff..use it myself. I have also used Rowland (know Jeff peronally). Excellent company....I always look up to Mr. Rowland.. (He's very, very tall :)

The 3D arm and the classic arm uses the same basic gizmo, however the 3D device is slightly different from the Classic. When setting up the gizmo, the most pressure against the arm is when the outrigger is fully extended. When it is not, the weigh...
