Goertz still the choice with Vandersteen?
All cable sound/act differently on different systems. You have to try them to hear if these cable are to your liking.

Wasn't the older Anti-Cables thin, single copper wire....that got such great reviews from The Absolute Sound... 
Why so few balanced phono inputs?
I'm using Ayre electronics all of which are dif. balanced, so I'm naturally using balanced all the way from the cartridge to the speakers. The sound is great...no hum/noise, even with the volume wide open and ear against the speaker. 
Tonearm wiring termination---DIN, or RCA jacks?
How about using Balanced termination (XLR) into a fully balanced pre....

I also succumbed to John's hypnosis and am enjoying my Vandersteen/Ayre combo.

Porter Ports are very good...I was using them for years, but found Maestro better and switched out.

Okonrad....get in touch with the guy who makes them (forgot his name) Someplace in Vermont...anyway he'll guide you. I also tried his Terra Stones....didn't like them. Bearpaws are big brass cones that screw in with the same threads as the origina...

I have a Superscoutmaster with Rim Drive, etc. like yours. Harry told me that there is nearly no difference between ours and the D/D. No point in focusing on the Direct Drive. One thing I could suggest....when I replaced the Classic Feet with Bear...

Tom...actually its very rewarding when you listen to the final results and how each of the parameters effect the overall sound. ...and you really only have to do the whole job once (until the next cartridge comes along..)

Tom...I'm using a VPI 3D arm, and can tell you that when moving either counterweight or CounterIntuitive around the arm tube..even slightly, I can't prevent it from moving front/back..even a miniscule amount which changes VTF. I must check and che...

I have Wireworld HDMI cables ....had BlueJeans...the difference (and the cost , I know) is enormous.
