altec Model 19’s and ss integrated The 100wpc McIntosh MA5200 won't give you the classic McIntosh house sound. That model does not use the output transformers which gives that classic sound.
Triton Reference Review On my T references, I used the following amps: Odyssey Stratos Extreme+++ 160wpc amp, Conrad-Johnson MF2550 250wpc, and McIntosh MC152 amp 150wpc. I kept the McIntosh and sold the other two. To my ears, the sound is just right.I would also keep...
Be Careful! I bought a 3 inch square anti-static mat that connects to the ground on the wall outlet. It is amazing how much static you can build up just getting off the couch. Best 15.00I ever spent.
Groneberg cable good? In my system with McIntosh electronics, the Gronebergs are the clear winner compared to MIT, audio art, Kimber and Monster.
Need some Speakers with sensitivity >90db I would say either the Tektons or the ZU Audio. The Tektons will come in for less $$$ and seem to have a big following.
who is using the Rogue RP-5 (or RP-1/RP-7) Phono pre? The phono section of my previously owned Rogue RP-5 bettered the John Curl phono section that was in my Audible Illusions Modulus 3B preamp ($3995 retail). However, my McIntosh C2500 phono section is better than both of them.

My wife is at it again......... I loved your wifes postings, happy to see her back.
Integrateds: Why do they all SUCK? "Almost nobody seems to make integrateds with all the modern stuff like digital inputs, and a power output of 200 watts or more."My McIntosh MA6600 integrated outputs 200wpc.
VAC Phi 300.1a Single Channel Ground Loop Hum "My son will be thrilled (lol) to have to move that beast from the rack."That is what our kids are for.
peachtree amp vs. traditional amp The Peachtree is a Class D amp which requires a digital power supply. They do not generate much heat and do not have many parts so the boxes are quite small. Most of the other amps are Class AB which means more parts and heat. Personally, I do ...
Esoteric N-05 Network player vs Bricasti M1SE with network card @essrand Did you not see the OP specifically said that he is ONLY interested in the two DAC's he mentioned, no others? It seems to me he has narrowed it down to those 2 specific units.
Integrateds: Why do they all SUCK? I went from a Audible Illusions Modulus 3B pre and Odyssey Stratos Extreme stereo amp to a McIntosh MA6600 integrated amp and have never been happier.
Are the Mods handling these forums as well as they could be? How can we help them? If I wanted censorship, I would go live in Russia, China, N. Korea, etc. There is absolutely no need for that here. I think some of us have way too much time on their hand. I just skip over the derogatory posts.
Are the Mods handling these forums as well as they could be? How can we help them? This is a a meaningless thread, moderator please close it. What are we supposed to do, tattle on one another? |
