Good CD for testing bass response
I use that on my RELs also; got it on Amazon.
Wilson Benesch Torus Sub
That is the way I run my RELs also.
Musical Fidelity M6-500i vs Kw - 500
surprisedThat is what I was told also, the MC is not even mentioned in the manual. But it is actually there, I only found out about it through an old review. It would be worth looking for as it might be set to MC if there is one there, it is quite...
Tweeter as my surround??
Just what range does this tweeter cover? A midrange would be much more practical as the tweeter likely only covers the musical overtones at this size. One of the full range drivers would be the best choice if you wanted to stay small. I think you ...
Musical Fidelity M6-500i vs Kw - 500
I think you will really like it. A couple of things I have found from experience with mine; the manual says to not open the case under penalty of voiding the warranty but the MM/MC switch is on the inside on mine. Also the pre and amp sections on ...
Musical Fidelity M6-500i vs Kw - 500
Judging from my experence with the NuVista M3 I have I would go with the 500. You will get nowhere near its performance for $1495 from anyone; mine has outperformed amp/pre combinations costing over $10K.

What the heck is bias anyway?
I'm biased against tubes, does that count?
gamut m5
I have the L 5s, which retailed for about the same amount. Everyone who has heard them is impressed with them.
Newbie question: Amplifiers, Volume, Clipping?
I am the furthest thing from a tube amp expert but with solid state the problem with clipping is that it eventually will let DC through to your speakers; this use to be called hard clipping. I think that tube amps generally exhibit what was called...
Newbie question: Amplifiers, Volume, Clipping?
Clipping is far less of an issue with tube amps; I would not worry about using triode. If 3 watts give 90db then 6 gives 93db and 12 96. So the triode should give you about 97 db at one meter, actually quite loud in most rooms. Pentode should give...
Why so little none impressions on Focal Maestro?
Sometimes it is easy to overestimate how many units of upper market components are actually sold. I have been a small audio dealer for years in smaller markets and never see some of these items. I have sold things to a few people with the kind of ...
refoam?
If you need it the speaker should sound better afterward; if done well should sound as it did originally.
How awesome is the McIntosh MC501?
Not very.
