Tonearm for rega Planar 3
When I post a response about a product I sell, I identify myself as a dealer. from the following email I received: Well, logic tells us that a turntable can be designed that will allow a tonearm to strut its stuff in an unencumbered way. I build s...
what phono amp for a VPI scout with Lyra Dorian
I am a VPI dealer and was faced with the problem of deciding which phono stages to carry , after agonizing a long time I decided on the Dynavector 75 ($750) and the Blue Circle 709 ($1295). Not trying to sell you either, just two I thought looked ...
Integration of a REL B3 subwoofer
Drubin has it. I bought the soundtrack from "Sneakers" that they recommend on Amazon and it was helpful.
Integrated Help
I was going to recommend MF, will second. Tubes are not what comes to mind for the type of music you like.
Tonearm for rega Planar 3
Mosin, you never said anything about a turntable being "good', you stated clearly that the only design parameters for a turntable was speed accuracy. I tried to point out that "Without imparting anything etc. " could cover almost any conclusion yo...
Tonearm for rega Planar 3
Mosin, it does matter. What you have missed is the last 30 years of turntable design. Some arms work better with one turntable, some with another. LOGIC would tell us that all turntables which revolved at the correct speed should sound the same. T...
Tonearm for rega Planar 3
I would definitely get one with VTA adjustment, I have only used the 300 and that was some time ago but it was very good. I don't see any point is using any arm besides one of the Rega family; it matches the table and there is no real competition ...
Cartridge / arm combination. How do you know?
It is also possible to add mass to a tonearm. Some cartridges use to come with a lead weight to add mass. You could try adding some Blutak or similar substance to the headshell in moderation, look at sites like vinyl engine for advice on this.
Cartridge / arm combination. How do you know?
The carbon fiber arms were generally aimed at a generation of cartridges that are extinct, ones with compliance of 40 or 50. But yours may be of newer design. Try to find out the mass of the arm and compare it with the compliance of the cartridge....
Vpi Aries 1-3 difference between tables?
This is very interesting to me; although I was a VPI dealer in the past as well as the present I missed the Aries 1 and 2 period entirely. I have an Aries Extended on order with 12.7 arm and super platter. I have not used a composite platter for y...
Denon DL 160/DV 10x5, PrimaLuna PL2 Factory Stage
I am a dealer for Dynavector but don't have a 10x5, have used earlier generations. I do use a Denon 160, which is quite good. I paid about $100 on the internet for the Denon new so it represents much less of an expendature. I would buy one, very l...
Speaker cable for my Revel F 30 & MF Nu-Vista M3?
The choice between long interconnects and short speaker wires and vice versa has been debated endlessly, if that is what you refer to. I am on the side of long interconnects, but the other works too. If you mean" do you keep them as short as possi...
SME 10 or Aries 3 with SME IV
Personally, I think you would be happy with either. At this level set up is possibly more significant than differences between tables. But everyone hears different things and only you can make the decision. If I lived in England I would definitely...
Vpi Aries 1-3 difference between tables?
There is an Aries with 10" arm for $2000 currently available, if I wasn't a VPI dealer I would buy it myself.
Turntable power supply- mains cable?
Using a better power cable improved my Scoutmaster so it should do the same for the SME.
