Power cord suggestions for a McIntosh MC162
Try Pure Note Sigma and TG Audio. Both are great cords for the money.
Clean Power
Square-D industrial grade breakers are far better than the typical GE types, IMO.
Do PS Audio Plus/Statement Power Cord Worth The $
There are others that are better. TG Audio SLVR and Pure Note Sigma as examples.
Krell CAST versus Balanced XLR?
When I recently upgraded my system the dealer gave me some CAST cables. I already had Pure Note and Siltech XLR cables. Sorry but the CAST cables did not compare to those cables in ultimate musicality.Sonic Genius' Reference Stereo System a/o July...
Replacement power cord for Krell FPB400cx
I own the 400cx. Don't worry about Dan, just buy an IEC hole punch. I use the Pure Note Sigma power cords which are perfect for Krell gear.Sonic Genius' Reference Stereo System a/o July 2003:Martin-Logan Prodigy speakers.Krell FPB400cX power amp. ...
Which cables go with what?????
AudioEngr: If you have the education and experience that you claim then you would be a fool to be in the high-end audio cable business. NASA, JPL come to mind or running your consulting company.Or course retiring to the woods of Oregon ain't that ...
Which cables go with what?????
Nighthawk:That was my point earlier on. These guys need dealer support to sell their wares and leave the forums to the hobbyists.
Which cables go with what?????
I agree, forget the theory and try a bunch a cables to get the best system match.Nrchy: I guess you don't find Steve Nugent (Audioengr) aka Empirical Audio cables findings as a valid argument?
Help with Audioconnects
My components are Sony SCD-1 and Krell electronics. The Pure Note Epsilon Ref. www.purenote.com is great for the money. If money is no object then Siltech Compass Lake or the new G6 line.
Best PC for Krell FPB - 600 - 20 Amps
I also use the PN Sigma's on my Krell equipment. You need to put many hours on these for them to blossom. I have the 15-Amp version. Too bad the new Krell stuff is hardwired. Dan D'Agostino hates aftermarket cords, I guess he feels that he can do ...
KAS Maestro IC - soo good ?
As posted elsewhere I would be leery of inflated "retail prices" and low blow-out prices. These are marketing gimmicks, IMO, and since the economy is slow some cable mfg's resort to this to stay in business. Just too many players today and I wonde...
FAST and NOT THIN sounding PC recommendation?
Hee: I think the Sigma is tighter in the bass (kick drum is impressive) than the SLVR. I don't think there is any volage drop with the Sigma since it uses 11-gauge silver wire. Some power cords can sound bloated in the bass too. You may want to tr...
FAST and NOT THIN sounding PC recommendation?
Hee: Not much diff. The Slvr is a bit better in the bass, IMO. These cords are good for the money but you may have to move up in price for the best performance. The AZ pc's are good but at $1500?
FAST and NOT THIN sounding PC recommendation?
I use both the Pure Note Sigma and TG Audio SLVR. Great cords with lots of body. The Sigma is a few bucks cheaper.
XLR inverted, is it OK?
Tafka_steve stated this well. Your system may already be inverted and the "inverted cable" may fix this. Also some folks can't hear absolute polarity differences anyway.
