interconnect recommendation for bat-vk51se w/krell I used to own a BAT Vk60 power amp. I used the Pure Note Epsilon Ref. with good results. http://www.purenote.com
Balanced or RCA? Depends on the equipment. In many cases RCA is just fine for short cables.
To Biwire or not to biwire Bi-wiring can work depending on the cables and the speaker. I have also found that a single wire with jumpers can be just as good for a lot less money.
correct bi-wiring per Richard Vandersteen I believe Pure Note is one of the very few companies that splits the phases on speaker cables with wide spacing. This increases inductance but eliminates capacitance. The sonic benefits of their Epsilon Ref. cable is a very clear soundstage. They ...
Silver to Preamp & Copper to Amp? You might want to consider the Sonic Precision cables (rhodium-copper alloy). The have NO silver edge but are much more detailed than copper cables.http://www.sonicprecision.com/sonicprecision/sphome.htm
Pure Note Sigma PC compared It compares to the TG audio SLVR, IME. The Sigma's strength is in absolute detail, TG is a tad better in the lows. The Sigma is very flexible and easy to work with and will not pull light weight components off the shelf like the "monster cords."
Question for Levinson owners There are many challengers to the Valhalla (I used to own) for far less money. Take a look at the review on the Stereo Times comparing the Pure Note cables to HMS and Nordost. The Pure Note is a better product IMO than many cables out there and at...
Review: Pure Note Epsilon Reference Speaker cable I have learned there is a great review on the Epsilon Reference cables from Stereo Times. Seems to be a very honest and fair review as I have found Pure Note cables to be the best. Congratulations to Pure Note!http://www.stereotimes.com/cables0914...
Review: Ridge Street Audio Midnight Silver Edition GEN. II Interconnect Great review LAK. I did a search on your posts and it seems that your comparison to the Pure Note Reference is based on their original cable (version 1 or 2) and not their latest version 4 product. Like you, I owned version 1/2 and there is no com...

speaker cable and IC's to dim brightness in system Cardas if you want warmth. You must of had a bad experience with "other" cables. I own Krell electronics and ML speakers and find that a proper cable match is critical. I use Pure Note Epsilon Ref. cables.
Two different cable pairs from amp into speakers Done all the time. Put the cable with best highs on the hF posts. Other cable on the LF posts. I have done this with many brands of cables with good results.
Nordost VS Kimber Speaker cables The Kimber Bifocals are nice cables IMO. Try to audition a few.
What benefit do bullet plugs add to ICs? Some folks like these plugs especially for DIY projects. The plastic housing does affect the sound (dielectric absorption).Yet metal plugs have their character so it depends on the user. I still like metal plugs. The Cardas GRMO comes to mind. |
