Vandersteen 2Ce Sig3 vs VLR with Sub 3
I’d save up for the Treos, then add 2 Vandy, REL, JM Lab, or Rhythmic subs when you can.  Or, even better, just buy used Quattros.
QLN Speakers anyone
I think I may try a pair of Zu Soul VI before I make a decision.   I wouldn’t do that.  You need to give the QLNs at least 150 hours before judging them.  If they don’t warm up to you I’d highly recommend Verity Audio.  Highly musical and detai...
Don Sachs Owners Thread
I’ve heard Don is now semi retired.  Not that this negates the value of this thread, but has anyone else heard this?
Which amp to use with Linear Tube Audio pre?
Aegir was interesting, very warm and full sound. But sounded syrupy and compressed compare to using the MZ2 as amp This is exactly why I recommended Bryston as it’s transparent and less likely to stomp on the good things the MZ2 brings to the t...
Wilson Audio Sabrina X - Hegel H390/H590
I think I’d give your H390 a serious shot and see what you think.  If you think you need more, at that level I’d be looking for separates including a tubed preamp and solid state amp.  But, I have a feeling your Wilsons with your current Hegel ain...
Which amp for B&W 805 D3 and HTM2 D3 speakers - Rotel RMB-1555?
I am still thinking onkyo TX-RZ50 ($1400) to allow use of full range DIRAC Live  I certainly get that, but think of me when your Onkyo’s HDMI board fails and you’re in a quandary as to how to get it fixed.  I’m sure the hedge fund owners will g...
Just a thought here but,,,,,,xlr adapters?
I was told by a designer of high-end DACs that the digital signal much prefers the AES/EBU to the point that using adapters to RCA is still a net positive.  I’ve no personal experience doing this, but I trust his advice as much as adding extra con...
Cardas Clear Beyond XL PC
Triode Wire Labs offers very musical PCs, and since they sell direct you might save $$$. If you get the Cardas Clear I’d order a TWL cord just to compare and see what you think, and they offer an in-home trial so it’s easy to compare. It’s impossi...
I'm not sure what I need
Would I notice the Krell sounding significantly better than the Anthem while watching TV? Probably not.  In your system I wouldn’t pay up much for the Krell as you’ll likely be very happy with the Anthem.  And Anthem also has rock solid reliabi...
Am I nuts?
As an owner of speakers that are no longer manufactured, I can tell you it’s no fun walking on eggshells for an impending disaster.  It’s not worth it.  If you listen to music constantly in fear of a catastrophic failure, it takes away from the ul...
Right-sizing the system / room treatment evangelist
I completely disagree.  If you want to maximize your enjoyment, use the larger room.  Better systems need space to breathe and show what they can do.  Unless you’re planning on buying small bookshelf speakers, IMHO you’re limiting your system perf...
Just a thought here but,,,,,,xlr adapters?
I’ve been told by @bigkidz who designs high-end DACs that you’re better off using AES/EBU (the digital version of XLR) converters than using just RCA connectors.  Could be wrong, so hopefully he’ll chime in here.
I'm not sure what I need
I agree with @auxinput an Anthem AVM-60 or other used Anthem AVP that has the features/connections you need would be a great choice for your setup if in budget.
Cullen Cable
I got two Cullen power cords a couple months ago.  Took around two weeks to arrive.
Which amp for B&W 805 D3 and HTM2 D3 speakers - Rotel RMB-1555?
No.  Just...no.  Yamaha better tan Denon.  Listen to me!!!
