Apple Music vs Tidal for SQ
If you find Qobuz fatiguing I’d suggest the problem is somewhere else in the chain.
What can I do between the wall and my streamer/DAC?
Probably do well to upgrade to a better Ethernet cable.  In streaming, everything matters and makes a big difference.  +1 on upgrading to ENO or the like.
Hi Res from iPhone vs AppleTV sound
I use my old phones for remotes, as God intended.  Experimenting is good. Happy holidays. Maybe starting elsewhere than Apple might yield better results. Unless your thing is polished turds. @fuzztone Heh heh.  Good one.
Hi Res from iPhone vs AppleTV sound
Well, I followed a similar progression, and what I ended up learning was that in streaming EVERYTHING matters, and matters A LOT.  First, the Apple Camera Adapter is absolute crap.  Upgrade to this and you’ll hear much better sound quality. https...
Apple Music vs Tidal for SQ
Neither.  Go with Qobuz.  MQA is a total farce, and Qobuz has a lot more real hi-res content not altered by some mystical algorithm.
Power cords: Anticable vs Mad Scientist
@ghdprentice ebm just spouts off totally useless comments that rarely contain more than five words. I’m pretty sure he’s never even heard of much less heard Mad Scientist cables, so take it for what it’s worth. Nothing. He’s not worth your time.
What am I missing?
Some of the songs are really awful, but that's ok.  It's part of the charm.  I'd rather hear something new and fun, than songs I've already heard a million times. @mirolab Heh heh, and totally agree the ability to hear worlds of new music has b...
Has the ASR review/hatchet job on the Musetec MH-DA005 Changed Anyone's Mind?
@sns Big +1!!!  It’s amazing what you can hear when you just trust your own ears rather than having to be “told” what “must” sound good on the basis of measurements.  Sad.  Just sad.
Amazon music vs Qobuz
@tgilb Steve Stone did a comparison of several streaming services I think on The Absolute Sound a couple years ago and found Amazon to be sub par compared to Qobuz and others.  I prefer the AMZN interface, but as sound quality is my priority I sti...
What am I missing?
Don't mean to drag this out, but I think maybe you don't understand what remastering is.  It has nothing to do with bitrate. @mirolab You may well be right, but I’m willing to learn and would love to hear your thoughts.  It’s hard for me to ima...
Amazon music vs Qobuz
Your I phone in my case has to download and IFI app and the you would stream your qobuz app for song listings??? Pretty close? @robshaw I guess you could do it that way, but I just went to the iFi website and enabled the connection there. Sorry...
Amazon music vs Qobuz
@robshaw Heh heh.  I hear ya and I have little patients for tech snafus myself.  If you don’t like the Qobuz interface you ain’t gonna like MConnectHD any better, but I find it at least serviceable.  At $399 the ZS provides a lot of sound quality ...
What am I missing?
@mirolab Everything has absolutely not been remastered — that’s ridiculous.  Switch to Qobuz. My DAC says everything is 16/44.1 or better, and my streaming now sounds better than spinning discs. Tidal sucks as does their absurd and total BS MQA al...
What am I missing?
Nearly everything on streamers has been remastered to be very loud and compressed @mirolab That’s just not true.  Sites like Qobuz and Tidal exist to stream content in full CD 16/44.1 resolution.  And a lot of music is available in hi-res that ...
Amazon music vs Qobuz
@robshaw Goodonya for keeping an open mind on this, and you’ll be richly rewarded for any effort you make toward getting a separate streamer. BTW, totally agree with you on Qobuz, and I prefer the Amazon interface too but not at the expense of sou...
