Could you be overdriving your speakers? I once hooked my VMPS bookshelfs up to my Krell Ksa-250 and they did the same thing (snapping sound) at high volume levels.Dave

Pioneer DVD 563A or 578A can be found for around $100...$400 left for speakers and cables. I have a Pioneer 563A in my hometheater system...a great unit at $100, IMO.Dave

Which Patricia Barber album floats yer boat?
Every month or so I go through the music threads looking for something I may want to add to my collection...sometimes I hit the jackpot. One thing you do notice very quickly, our musical tastes are all over the map...a good thing I'd say, somethin...
Whatever Happened To SAE?
I don't know what happened to SAE...did it not become ATI? I had some SAE gear years ago driving my DQ-10's...lots of meters, looked cool!...was not to impressed with the sound though, somewhat bright and cold sounding.Dave

I agree with Rwwear...get some Bose. I owned the 901's in the 70's...CD's sounded very bad for the most part back then, the Bose helped a lot because of their upper freq roll off.You could mate them with a tubed cd player...maybe the one mentioned...
Seeking hot running amps
My Krell Ksa-250 runs pretty warm...or, a pair of these in mono-block configuration (MDA-500) should be a great winter space heater.Don't forget about big tube amps...lots of heat.Dave
I Didn't Do My Homework
I think BAT makes an adaptor also, you could try both for around $100. That said, I own and have used the Cardas adaptors at times in my systems...sounds fine to me.Btw, Congrats on the IRS Beta.Dave

I'd sure like to see some mis-guided audiophile invite a live band into their home...try to have them setup all their gear between their speakers...HeHe. You might get the drum set to fit?Or do some of you guys listen to little tiny bands with lit...

I took all the songs I like (a lot) off of the four cd's I own and put them on my hard drive...that way I skip the strange stuff that I can't seem to get into.I did the same thing with the Doors, now they had some strange songs...I love um though!...
