Can you run outputs from dvd player to amp ? Only if it has a volume control built in. You could use a passive volume control (passive preamp). You would need one with two inputs..one for your pre/pro pass through, and the other input would work for what you are trying to do.Dave
Speakers that accurately reproduce a drumset I think my Apogee Duetta Signatures do this very well, best I've had. I also have a pair of Vmps Supertowers, deeper bass but not as real sounding. I watched Diana Krall live in Paris Dvd last night and that was one of the things that struck me ab...
Thiel Cs 3.6. Outdated? The Thiel's spend a good amount of time in the 2-4ohm range If I recall correctly, this could be tuff on the amp if you have a large room or like to play loud.Dave
bi-amping question One of the downsides to bi-amping with a multichannel amp is that if the four channels you are going to use for bi-amping share the same power supply..no gain from reduced load as you would get from seperate amps.If you add a two channel amp to th...
SACD 2 channel vs Redbook 2 Channel LOL, looking forward to that story J.D.Dave
What Harmonic tech cables should I used for CD It will depend on which DAC you think sounds better, If you use the RCA analog outs from the player then it's DAC's will be used..the digital out will use the DAC in your pre/pro. I use the digital out from my player because my Sunfire pre/pro sou...
SACD 2 channel vs Redbook 2 Channel Thanks for the post J.D., Didn't PBS do a story on you and this very subject a while back? Dave
Krell KSA250 need services? When? One day in the future you will push the power botton..the blue light will come on: BUT, you will not hear a click! Thats how a lot of Ksa-250's wind up back at Krell. The protection circuitry will be engaged and it will be time to go in for the fu...
Preamp for Krell KSA 250 and Thiel 3.6? You might want to talk to John Chapman at Bent Audio..http://www.bentaudio.com/index2.html, He can build you a passive NOH balanced preamp that will take your system to a higher level. I used one with my Ksa-250, the only problem you MAY or MAY NO...
Linn Ikemi & SACD Linn's sacd player is called the Unidisk player I think? The Ikemi plays redbook cd's.Dave
What is the best receiver for me? Yep, Nad would be good. You might also check out outlaw audio's receiver, I don't no much about it's features but a lot of people say it's a keeper.Dave
What's the oldest piece of gear in your system? I have a Sansui AU-717 amp and TU-717 tuner from the late 70's. The amp is now on a passive sub and the tuner is not in use. Most of my system is old because I am poor.Dave
Differences in SACD channels All multichannel Sacd's also have two channel sacd? If you don't want to play the multichannel..then just don't play it. Set your player to default to two channel and thats all it will play every time you insert the disc. You may be a little confu...
Screen Reletive to Speaker My screen is on the wall and my front L/R speakers are 5 feet out with the center speaker at 4 feet out. Sounds fantastic even at this distance. My seating distance is at around 17 feet from my 100 inch screen. Place your speakers as you would for...
I have a general question about surround sound. It's a big deal in that, it may offer the same amount of upgrade to the soundstage that stereo offered over mono. Does it do that at this point and time?, on some disc's yes.I think that down the road (could be a good while), your going to have ma... |
