I am sad
Social media so reactionary, OP is sad over his admittedly relatively small loss, so he can't feel sad, depressed or whatever in short term. Do we now have to police emotions, sheesh!   As for repairs and diagnosis of equipment, I've had most su...
Maybe critical listening skills are bad?
Over many decades and much equipment I'm trying to think of a single piece I purchased based solely on a single professional review. Early on prior to internet/social media my purchases all based on listening at dealers and shows. Since social med...
Modwright PH9.0 X power source modification
If you're asking me, 5AR4/GZ34.
Are Merlin TSM speakers buried with their owners?
Any Merlin with Hovland caps less natural than those with the Duelunds. With Duelund more natural timbre, makes all the difference. Also, tubes superior to SS with these, Bobby voiced it for this. EL 34  for push pull, 845 SET best match in my exp...
Modwright PH9.0 X power source modification
I have SWP 9.0 SE, came with Ruby rectifier tube, replaced it with Mullard NOS from late 50's, easily heard improvement. Me thinks I'd prefer tube rectification vs SS in the 9.0X. Tube rectification in general more 'natural' to my ears.
I am sad
Like I said perspective changes with time. If I had started a thread on the day my destroyed amp had arrived I would have used words like devastated, depressed, traumatized. Perspective very much tied to context, so in the context of time I can em...
Are Merlin TSM speakers buried with their owners?
Never owned the TSM, but I'll never let go of my VSM-MM,  no longer in my main system but they'll stay to the end. Only issue with Merlins is lower bass even with BAM 6.5" driver can only move so much air. Never could get a coherent lower bass wit...
I am sad
I can relate to OP in that I had a $18k amp completely destroyed by a tech, and when the laser mechanism in a great cd transport died. Amp shows up at my door after two years gone missing, open up box, chassis absolutely destroyed like someone too...
First impressions of new MH-DA006, Musetec flagship
I'd bet on your pin configuration not being exactly matched. All eight pins must be exact match, M1-PCM Data + and - need to be exact match, same for M2-PCM-BCLK + and -, M3-PCM-LRCLK + and -,M4-MCLK + and -.
Talk me out of buying Monoblocks and into a stereo amp instead
I'll likely never go back to stereo amp, I'll take individual power supplies, transformers over shared all day.

I suspect something in earc cable configuration is issue, this is dedicated home theater cable, optimized for video.
First impressions of new MH-DA006, Musetec flagship
@shmeet So I'm assuming you have pin out configured properly, 006 outputting music?  Also assume you've followed directions for configuring I2S from 006 owners manual. If all this correct in settings you should have choice of sync or async in I2S ...
Anybody having trouble getting near-your-asking-price for used gear ? (Plz. no hype)
I always research present market values and price accordingly,  I also have pretty extensive 100% positive feedback. Can't recall a single time when I've not sold at asking price or near within a week or two.
I am sad
Perhaps they don't want you executing a diy repair. I've always had good luck with phone calls and speaking directly to company techs and/or owners, they often want to be assured you have some experience with effecting repairs.
Analogue front end. You want more weight, scale and dynamics.Where do you start upgrading?
@martinl07d Assume you're speaking to me. Belt drives I ran included highly modified Thorens, stock Rega's, a few VPI. My direct drive is Technics SP10 Mk II with custom build  nearly 100lb plinth Stillpoints for support, Jelco 12" kinife edge bea...
