Surge protector
If you leave your system on all of the time, no matter what protection you have... lightning rods, panel protection and/or unit surge protection, you are taking a risk and therefore relying on insurance to cover your loss.  Even if they are just o...
I went from Class D to Luxman A/AB - And most of what you think is wrong
A couple more things about the cherry amps that I didn’t mention. 1.  Most of their more detailed information seems to be located on their audio circle page... link at the bottom of their web page. 2. You will find that the are willing to sacrific...

I owned the Crown XLS 2000 for a while so I have a sense of the QSC... and I agree... great for subs.

The QSC amplifier is more of a pro audio amplifier that will work for home audio producing 300 watts into 8 ohms and handling speaker dips to 2 ohms. The Cherry amplifier is 14x 10x 4 inches... and they have much smaller mononlock amps also. These...

If you have ever read the works of Nobel winning psychologist Daniel Kahneman, he devotes a lot of brainpower and ink to proving that people develop a process of thinking that usually makes it very difficult for them to accept change. Often, compl...
Tekton or Klipsch
At one point I owned the tekton lore and the ls50 and a power sound audio s1500 sealed sub. As good as the ls50s sounded, they could never replicate anything close to live sound dynamics when used with the sub... the lores were far better at that ...
Tekton or Klipsch
Since at least in theory every component in the string influences the sound... what might the Rothwells do?The Schitt Sys might be a viable option to moderate the 40 dB if gain as another option.
Tone, Tone, Tone !
No doubt measurements have a value and a place....maybe they may get you to the right arena in the right city...but they probably won't get you to the right seat.  Why?  Because we all have individual preferences...we have different gear...we have...
Tone, Tone, Tone !
@prof I agree with your last post and that the spendors have great tone... but put them in the wrong room or with the wrong equipment and they may not shine so well..... and my brain may hear and process what an acoustic guitar sounds like a littl...
Tekton or Klipsch
Definitely agree you should consider resale... which is why some big 100# speaker will be an issue down the road as the buyer will expect you to factor the freight into your price. Also agree that you should try to hear your prospects...if at all ...
Tekton or Klipsch
With your room size, I don't really see much of a need for "giant speakers".  For six years, I owned the Tekton Lores and had them in a much bigger room which required me to supplement the low end with a sub...otherwise, they were great speakers w...
Buy a pair of ten year old $40,000 speakers for $4,000 or new ones at that price point?
From my perspective, there we very good loudspeakers made 10 years ago that easily compete with loudspeakers made today....BUT...how much risk are you willing to take.....Its likely that someone who bought a $40k speaker 10 years ago and is sellin...
amp to buy?
In almost every case, the DAC is going to plug into the wall...and then send its signal to a preamplifier and in some cases direct to the amplifier.  Some amplifiers have one input and a volume control and therefore can usually be fed directly by ...
