Anybody having trouble getting near-your-asking-price for used gear ? (Plz. no hype) It might also be a good time for sellers to be buyers....buy what you want now, possibly getting a better deal and hold off selling until things get a little better.
Anybody having trouble getting near-your-asking-price for used gear ? (Plz. no hype) Post election, many things related to people's sense of stability are up in the air. This seems to be causeing people to be skittish with their disposable income. What do I mean? Inflation appears not to be under control as the cost of many sta...
RIP Tommy Obrien - Cherry Amp I made a few inquiries back in the day and never found anyone who was able to discover any circuit diagrams for tommy's gear. Here is a thread that speaks more to the issue and what others found: https://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=18072...
Is it O.K. To Speculate Re: Company Stability Here? If you label your post as speculation....at least it can't be confused as possible fact. The real value add would be to post nothing until you know "more facts" and then post them labeled as such.
Why do I have to prove I am a human, every time I refresh a page on this site ? As AI hacking gets better and better, you may soon have to provide a retinal scan.
Beware, scammers everywhere No matter what site you are using for buying or selling, unless the other party has at least 3+ transactions...and one of them near the dollar figure you are considering...then DON'T take the chance..and if you do, its on you.
Who positions their speakers straight ahead (zero tow in) and why. I had the LRS+ with no toe in and tweeters on the outside creating a huge soundstage. I have the Mofi Sourcepoint 8s pointed at my shoulders to get the best blend of soundstage and imaging.
Paid for UPS shipping and the package was immediately sent to the US Post Office. From the all knowing internet….. While USPS does not directly deliver packages labeled for UPS, they can sometimes deliver the final leg of a UPS shipment through a service called "UPS SurePost," where UPS transports the package to a local U...
ACTUAL MUSICAL SOUND VS. MEASUREMENTS At least with speakers the goal should be to better correlate measurements with what you hear and how specific room shapes, sizes and treatments influence both.
Downsizing from tower to bookshelf I just did what you are about to do.... No need to spend more...here is my suggestion: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_700SP8BK/MoFi-Electronics-SourcePoint-8-Speakers-Satin-Black-Ash.html Lots of good reviews and comments...and for those who car...
More potential bad news for some big names... My guess is that less than 1% of people care about the quality of the sound of music. It’s not that they don’t care about music…it’s just that music is mostly for background while they are doing something else. I’ve introduced many people to g...
Magnepan LRS+ resistors on the tweeters… which? I find that the 0.25 ohm resistor has zero impact on detail, sounstage, imaging… from what I’ve read just a very, very gradual roll off from about 800hz up which in my case tames the slight brightness/sibilance in a way I can both live with and af...
Magnepan LRS+ resistors on the tweeters… which? The supplied 1&2 ohm resistors kill the top end. That is why the Audio Connexion option for lower value resistors is very low cost… under $75 and likely to make a noticeable improvement.
Magnepan LRS+ resistors on the tweeters… which? Let me just say that I went through multiple amps and two preamps… and each shaped the sound in their own way… but it was the 0.25 ohm resistors that really dialed things in…. my room is large and somewhat live. https://www.audiogon.com/system...
Magnepan LRS+ resistors on the tweeters… which? I went to the Parts Connexion and found the same ceramic resistors that Magnepan provides and bought matched pairs 0.1 ohms, 0.2, 0.3 and so on up to 0.8… they are very inexpensive and then find which value gets you the sound you want. |
