All I need to know about D-Sonic amplifiers
Can't comment on the D-Sonic....but here is an alternative amp to consider. And here is a link that describes how this amp was developed.   As you say, there aren't too many reviews of the D-Sonic but the few there are seem to be good....there are ...
Can one ever be "done" in this hobby?
For me, the hobby has three aspects; the music, the gear and the technology.  As a result, at any given point in time, any of the three may beckon.  I usually ask myself, how much am I willing to lose when its time to move on and try something dif...
spatial audio m3 or tekton perfect set
A preowned pair of Spatials will cost about the same as a new pair of Tektons....The Tektons will likely cost $2-400 to return if you don't love them...probably the same as you might discount the Spatials if you decide to resell them.Have you hear...
Two Thumbs Up For SALK and the Veracity ST
As you can see, I wrote that review about two months ago and I've been thinking about adding a few updates that may prove helpful to some. The usual question that is often posed is RAAL vs Be...and all I can say is having heard both, they are both ...
Salk Sound Owners
Lots of good restaurants and good hotels in the northern suburbs near the Salk location..
Salk Song 3A or Song 3 BeAT?
I had the opportunity to listen to a friends BeATs in a large room....easily 4000+ cubic feet....and they had plenty of low end, 5' out from the rear wall and 10' back to the listening position....check out the latest BeATs finish. Also, if you go ...
Salk VS Monitor Audio
I see jim Salk recommends 50 watts for the Beats... probably to make sure no one drives a smaller wattage amp into clipping   If you do the math... you probably won’t use 30 watts peak unless you are sitting 20’ back and playing at 90 dbsince salk...
Salk VS Monitor Audio

Puzzled about reasons why there seems to be no shortage of used planner speakers
I suspect there is one more issue that applies to many of us... “our sense of what sounds good” changes over time. Planars sound great this year... high efficiency next year... and so on. The LRS will undoubtedly be lacking in some areas... and wo...
Salk VS Monitor Audio
Good question... part of the answer is how loud do you listen, part is how much do you value bottom end punch and part is how much do you need top end liquidity.  Based on Axpona feedback... a good strategy might be to start with one aegir run in ...
Tekton tweeter design
First a disclaimer.. I don’t own currently Tekton and I haven’t heard the array. I like what Eric has done for two reasons. 1.  He designed something he knew from theory might be problematic.  Then he tweaked it and probably demo’d it for people a...
Salk VS Monitor Audio
I think your Halo gear would be a great match... and I have zero doubt that the sound will be a step up. I own the Salk Veracity STs played through a Belles 22a pre and Halo A23... and a friend has the Salk Beats played through Luxnan gear... Salk...
I wan't the best in this price range
Just as a question... I’m sure you tried different angles, tilts and room positions for the zu to see if you could eliminate the harshness???OK,  you have mentioned bass several times so it would seem that the zu must seem bass shy?  My experience...
Tekton tweeter design
@213runnin If you look at the linked posting by Eric on his website from back in January....he acknowledges that there is a market for better looking products as well as products containing state of the art components.
Tekton Double Impacts
I have a different thought about the pricing issue....and I fully admit that it is probably incorrect. When you think about it, there are at least 50+ successful loudspeaker companies...which basically says that there are lots of different tastes i...
