DENAFRIPS Terminator and Schiit Yggdrasil Evaluation and Comparison
Great to see my online stalker is still following and as usual has nothing constructive or useful to add.Anyway I should also thank the OP for a great review and that my query above is genuine and not malicious, you see this design is very much li...
Should I re-rip?
If your PC and equipment work properly it won’t matter the format as long as it is lossless redbook. Digital is digital. If you have issues (differences) then double check your conversion software (FLAC to WAV or WAV to AIFF or ALAC or whatever) a...
Does It have to be loud?
@gdhal I am surprised we cannot agree. To clarify, a speaker that plays to 90 dB SPL before distorting and non-linear behaviour commences is still true high fidelity up to the point it starts distorting. Above that level - well I thought this woul...
DENAFRIPS Terminator and Schiit Yggdrasil Evaluation and Comparison
I don’t doubt the Denafrips sounds fantastic. However technically I have a bit of trouble with the outlandish claim of 26 bits resolution. I smell a rat that may have been released by the Denafrips marketing department. (Not unlike Yggdrasil which...

Does It have to be loud?
@gdhal You will find few if any speakers that Soundstage found capable of true high fidelity at 95 dB and above. We agree on that point. That said the Vivid Giya G2 performs well - this is an example of high fidelity at higher SPLhttps://www.sounds...
Does It have to be loud?
@gdhal The Triton Golden Ear Reference seems to have a linearity problem at quite modest volumes (90 dB). It looks like the AMT ribbon suffers from the problems that have always plagued these designs - lack of ability to produce even modestly high...
Digital streaming/library
@kijanki Make sure Apple Core Audio (audio midi setup) and Apple iTunes are both set to 16/44.1. Core audio is a terrible SRC converter but the one in iTunes is good. Avoid at all cost any Core Audio conversion.

Publication bias and confounders in product reviews - TAS, Stereophile, Audiogon, etcetera
You missed the elephant in the room. Ordinary bits of wire. Not long ago, bits of wire were correctly viewed as bits of wire. Today gargantuan sums are paid for ordinary wires in the misguided belief that ordinary bits of wire do more than anythin...
