Best Blu-ray/DVD player for under $800? If you need upconversion then by all means spend the money. However, if you plan on buying BD discs then be aware that video quality is very similar on all models when playing 1080P into a TV or projector that handles 24, 50 and 60 Hz.If you need ...
Bring on the criticism... There must be an imaging issue. There is no way that two speakers will sound any good unless you already had a serious imaging problem. Admittedly the baffles, with all those edges and diffraction points, on the Maxx are bit baffling.
Which cost more: your system or your car? I guess mine is about the same as our Landcruiser but still a lot less than my wife's solitaire diamond ring.Guys - make sure you have your priorities right and look after your lady. Cars and Stereos are just things...they are utterly irrelevant c...
Please...Advice For The Speakerly Challenged I really can't make the choice for you but based on your comments - you clearly have good ears - so you should be fine.
Why is a 1.5-2 volt AC signal on my Neutral line? I gave a complex answer. Here are a few simple solutions. If the NAIM has an optical in then try that.Disconnect the video to the TV and see if the hum goes away - if it does then check your TV is grounded properly (no cheater plug).Whatever you do...
Why is a 1.5-2 volt AC signal on my Neutral line? You have a ground loop issue. Neutral is grounded at the main electrical panel box however the length of cables and a poor contact somewhere (or a cheater plug) to the equipment can allow a small stray voltage to build up from some power supply le...
Projector I am looking into a projector. I know it does not look as good as Plasma or LCD TVs but I like the fact that the screen can be 150 inches large. Just thought I'd update this thread with my recent experience. The above statement is no longer correc...
Are projector screens transparent to sound? Just thought I'd update this thread with my recent experience.I recently got a SeymourAV Centrestage XD dropdown 120" screen and it is extremely good. It is not totally transparent (none are) with a very slight attenuation mostly in the treble. I ...
Mark Knopfler live recordings As a huge Dire Straits/Mark Knopfler fan Ditto here. Knopfler is definitely an audiophile as well as a musician and song writer - always great sound.
New Tom Petty almost a throwback to the Yardbirds era of British R & B Yes it is indeed a throwback to the way traditional blues were played by British. However, it has a distinctly American feel to it also - one cis left in no doubt that this is American ...
Has anyone auditioned the BeoLab 5 speakers? They appear to use the Vifa 3 inch dome midrange (D75MX-31-08). This is the same as is used on some PMC's.It is a good sounding midrange but it cannot play very loud without compression/distortion.
What decibel level do you listen at? A lot will depend on the source music. The more lower frequency content the more likely you will get clipping or IMD. It is also not just an amp problem...speakers compress music because drivers quickly exceed their linear operating range - this a...
New Tom Petty Checked it last night on the big rig: Audio quality on Mojo CD is superb. The CD will be in my car on heavy rotation for a few weeks for sure.
New Tom Petty I saw the Heartbreakers recently and they played several numbers from Mojo. I suspect this album will please fans who like the heavier side to Petty (and who may have been less taken with Highway Companion or Wildflowers).I really liked "First Fla...
Audiophile speakers that rock well And if a "monitor sized" speaker is required because of the room size, then you aren't likely to achieve your goal anyway. True it is tough to rock out with small monitor type speakers. However the ATC SCM19 will play surprisingly loud (with a bi... |
