Anyone tried the Benchmark
This is a solid suggestion. This will make a great computer based desktop system.
JM Lab Diva Utopia problem - need help
You may have a blown midrange. It happens with almost any driver if you overdrive them or feed them to much clipped/distorted signal.
Does delay really matter?
Human threshold is about 2 msec or about 2 feet - so yes it does matter as many setups are more than 2 feet beyond the equidistant setup.

FWIW - you do have to crank Mojo to get the goods! The benefit of the better dynamic range is lost if you don't turn it up.

It's an average recording.Nothing more. Well you are entitled to your opinion and I don't have the vinyl so I cannot comment on that. The CD is outstanding as far as these things go in this kind of genre. It may not be a carefully crafted "Diana ...

Agreed. I would not classify it as a "demo" type recording that one might reach for to try and impress someone - it lacks the articulate detail one has come to expect from a carefully crafted and engineered album where separate recordings of indiv...
Help me replace my b&w 802d's
9 feet is ok for these speakers. You may need room treatment. The only minor issue with the 802d is the scoop/dip in the midrange. This may mean that dialog is hard to hear on some movies unless you crank it and listening position (where they soun...
Jef Beck "Performing Ronnie Scotts" LP
Yes the BD disc is excellent. Well recorded. I watched it again last night. I really enjoyed the rockabilly bonus set too.
AC Outlet w/ Clairity, Trasparency, Bass Weight
This kind of thing is approaching paranoia: "I can hear when they switch from burning coal to burning gas at the power utility station 30 miles away. I figure that gas burns cleaner and therefore I get a cleaner sound on my system."Be careful as y...
Educating Myself About Fan Noise
I believe there is a separate fan cooling device for the PS3 that you might try. Low noise also fans exist (cost about $100+). The tendency is for manufacturers to use the cheapest fans possible in audio and computer gear ($20 fans).I have done DI...
Is listening daily at an average of 85db safe?
It makes no difference whether it is music or a finely-tuned machine, like a HD...a dB is a dB. It does. A machine at 85 db will output continuous noise at that level affecting the ear in exactly the same frequencies for a continuous period - lik...
Why is a 1.5-2 volt AC signal on my Neutral line?
I am glad that we were able to pinpoint the problem as being due to a Ground Loop and help you solve it!
Is listening daily at an average of 85db safe?
Not a problem provided it is music. This is not loud at all. If this were machinery for 8 hours a day then the answer might be different.
New Tom Petty
He also said that Petty is closing on N. Young as the most SQ obsessed artist on their roster. Petty owns ATC SCM 50's and so does his sound engineer, Ryan Ulyate. IMHO, he has always been obsessed about SQ. They perform together with the kind of...
Why is a 1.5-2 volt AC signal on my Neutral line?
other than the normal ground loop problems due to bad cabling/mains/ground etc...Yep other than the normal problems from using RCA.Please understand that stray voltages ALWAYS exist but for the majority of cases the micro-currents are small enoug...
