Spades with NAD c320bee? HELP
As Swampwalker suggests, there are spade to banana adapters that will solve the problem. I use them in a situation just like yours with Cardas cables and a backup amp not designed for spades. Here's one source for them.

Most large hardware or home improvement stores have disks intended for sliding heavy furniture. They come in different sizes from an inch or so up to six or seven inches diameter. They made from a very hard, slick white plastic that looks almost l...
looking at some tube preamps,
No experience with any of the others but I'm extremely happy with my AE3-DJH. The build quality is wonderful and I've been amazed at how transparently it responds to swapping tubes. Even upgrading the stock tube rectifier made a huge difference in...
hissing through ipod
I have a 60 Gb 4G iPod and a mini and I don't hear any hissing from either of them. Could be my 61-year-old ears, of course.
Pocket PC remote for Mini Mac
I don't have any direct experience with it but the Salling Clicker software has been highly recommended for just that purpose. According to their site, it works with 300 different PDA's and cell phones.
YOUR Favorite Bookshelf/Monitor below $500
I've owned the Usher-520, PSB Alpha and the Soliloquy SAT 5. Of those three the Soliloquys are far and away the best. The Ushers are next. They may be a little bright, though, depending on your equipment. With a tube amp they sound remarkable at t...
Single-box systems; a no-interconnect alternative?
I've had two all-in-one systems, the NAD L-70 and NAD L-53. The transports failed in both during the first year. Having to put all your electronics in a box and send it off, even for work done under warranty, is discouraging, especially when it ta...
WADIA IPOD QUESTION ???
I love iPods, own three of them, but the idea of torturing an iPod by strapping it to an expensive external dock to create a truly high-end system seems like more of an interesting technical experiment than a reasonable way to spend money on good ...

Anybody heard Philips new tubed micro system?
There's a pretty extensive technical explanation of the innards of the Philips unit here, including suggestions for modifying it substantially. You'll need to scroll down the page to find the beginning of the item.
Diff. between Soliloquy "i" series and older type
The drivers were proprietary, as far as I could determine. There are a few tweeters out there with the same 110 mm flange and what looks like the same bolt configuration but I don't know if it would be possible to find a reasonable sonic match to ...
Diff. between Soliloquy "i" series and older type
I bought the replacements from Underwood HiFi. He had bought some of the remaining stock when Soliloquy went out of business and is the only source I could find. I don't know if he has any more, though, there have been other threads about this and...
Diff. between Soliloquy "i" series and older type
Yes, I don't know about the 6.2i's but the later 5's definitely had aluminum tweeters. I just had to replace a bad tweeter in my SAT 5's and the only ones still available were the aluminum ones.
Diff. between Soliloquy "i" series and older type
I'm not sure whether it corresponded exactly with the addition of the "i" designation but earlier versions of the SAT 5 and the 5.3 had soft-dome tweeters and the "i" versions had aluminum tweeters. I don't know about differences in the constructi...
How do I change name of ipod?
You didn't say if you're on a Mac or PC but on the Mac you can also change it from the icon of the iPod that appears on the desktop when you plug it into the sync cable. Click on the icon to select the iPod, then click on the name below the iPod a...
