While i'd like to respond to comments directed back at my previous statements, my 15 minutes per day is just about up : )Slappy: what a beautiful job you did of describing someone's mouth. YECH.... : ) PS... It CRACKED me up : ) Sean>
Is this why my analog rig isn't so hot?
Raul: Your observations about the people having top-end problems with Benz cartridges were using tube based gear from what i can recall. Good observation on that one, but i can't agree with your comments about the Denon 103. My personal experience...
X250 Isolation?
Out of curiosity Mitch, what type of devices did you end up with under the Pass? That's a pretty heavy amp and i'm wondering what you found to do the job. Sean>
Advice: spare channels for bi-wiring
I'm doing the same thing i.e. 2 channel amp for the mains and 5 channel amp for the center and surrounds. I'm using my two spare channels for subs, which works out great for me. If you don't have subs or the subs that you have are active ( built-i...
How to calibrate dual subwoofers?
Are these passive or active subs? Sean>
VenHaus Pulsar™ interconnects
I just shipped out TVAD's Pulsars to him after cooking them on a Mobie for about 5 days or so. As i told him, my experience is that "cooked" cables should be installed into the system and then have music played through them for 24 hours prior to j...

The gain on both of their "Phono Cube's" is very high. It is possible that highly modulated passages may cause clipping of the circuit, which would tend to sound very fuzzy or distorted, not necessarily "dull". My first suggestion is that you shou...
Tube power amp - keep on continually?
I agree. Do NOT leave tube power amps fired up unattended. Proper use calls for a warm-up time ( 5 - 15 minutes depending on design ) prior to use and then a "heat-down" time prior to shut-off. Cranking signal from the tubes before they are fully ...
Can good soundstage be had in small room
Your room is not that small and you should be able to achieve very good results with the right equipment and set-up. My "office" at home is only about 15 x 13 and i get an amazing amount of soundstaging with that system. Then again, i'm running om...
Genesis 350 vs. Carver AL-III
After reading Mejames' comments, i would agree that any of the Genesis speakers would not work well here. For that matter, your existing installation could probably sound GOBS better by repositioning your speakers and applying some room treatments...
How do YOU find the hole?
While i don't know if i'll be able to find the specific info that i'm looking for there, The Vinyl Engine is a GREAT resource for vinyl related subjects. GOBS of pictures of various tables, arms, etc... Thank YOU John.... Sean>
Home brew cleaning solution
I saw a specific disclaimer pertaining to use with Kodak Photo-Flo and its' lack of suitability for use with vinyl. I can't remember where i saw it, but it was from Kodak if i remember correctly i.e. they didn't want to be held responsible for som...
How do YOU find the hole?
I've got Forstner bits and a drill press, but i need to know how to locate the correct location for the hole. Sean>
Differences between small vs. large mid driver
I can smell the can of worms that just opened in this thread : )My personal thoughts are that 100 Hz is too low for a driver expected to cover the entire upper midrange region. I also agree with Trelja's comments that optimal woofer crossovers are...
