Slew Rate
While what Gs says may be "textbook true", in my experience, the higher the slew rate, the better off you are. Reasonable amps are rated for AT LEAST a minimum of 40+ V/uS ( Volts per micro-second ). Fast amps are well above 100 V/uS. You can do a...
Hales T5's Vifa's $ ohm or 6 ohm?
Mitch forwarded me some test results that Madisound ran for him. They did this with the actual tweeters in use with the specific crossover values that the Hales use. From what i can see, the Millennium and the Hales appear to be a very nice match ...

Cow-Punk = Tex and the Horseheads ( sounds like a cross between "hillbilly rock" and "punk", doesn't it??? )Horseheads = heroin junkies ( kinda deceiving, huh??? )Jack White = good old fashioned garage rock that draws upon tons of various influenc...
Will a Mira 3 have enough oomph for Dynaudio 5.2s?
Dynaudio's need muscular amplifiers to say the least. If you have ANY doubts as to whether or not the amplifier is sturdy enough to deal with these speakers, i would continue looking. Sean>
Which Threshold s are best?
The T series of amps were not designed by Nelson Pass. These are amps that were designed after he had sold Threshold. This is NOT to say that they are bad amps, they just aren't of Nelson's "bloodline". The Forte' 4, 5, 6, 7 & 55's were also p...
Will sun exposure damage my speakers?
Yes, it will. It will cause premature failure of foam surrounds and fade parts of the cabinets that are exposed to the light. Having said that, i'm in the same situation with one of my systems. As such, i treat the cabinets with Lemon oil, which k...
sunfire cinema grand II vs rotel 1095
I think that this specific Rotel is a sturdy amp. Having said that, i think that the Sunfire is both more versatile ( two different sounds in one amp ) and less fatiguing sounding. I would also recommend running the Sunfire in balanced / XLR mode ...
Which Threshold s are best?
As good as many Threshold amps are, they can all benefit from component upgrades / internal modifications. One of my friends has a very highly modified Stasis 2. He swapped out many of the caps, diodes, etc... of the existing circuitry, increased ...
B&W exposed tweeter on top design....
As far as i know, Bose spends more money on marketing than any other audio related manufacturer in the world. Then again, i would venture to say that Bose can afford to do something like that as their profit margin per product is probably 10 times...
Who u gots da most uv???
Bld63: Frank Black i've heard a bit of. I liked what i heard. Thanks for the recommendations. Sean>
B&W exposed tweeter on top design....
This approach helps reduce baffle related diffraction problems. The other solution is to use some type of "acoustic blanket" like AR and Dunlavy used. Sean>
B&W exposed tweeter on top design....
I don't know if B&W were the first to do this, but it has been a consistent design attribute on some of their models since the late 1970's. The 801's had this and they were available in at least 1978, maybe earlier. I can't recall. Sean>
Amplifiers:A Keeper for Life. Do you know of one ?
I've got 20+ amplifiers and there's only one that i wouldn't want to part with, even if i just kept it as a spare. Since i own it though, i don't want to taint the results of this poll, so i won't post what make / model it is : ) Sean>
How does this happen--CD defect?
The answer is obvious. That is, you purchased the "censored" version of this disc. Since they would have to sell it as a "CD single" if there were only one recorded track on it, and therefore make less money, they gave you two tracks : )That's a w...
Xindak Cable Question
Brent: I'm glad that you're having good luck with and enjoying your SACD 1000. My unit went down after about 11 months worth of daily use. I sent it into the local Philips facility for repair and there it sat. They did not have the parts needed to...
