Jcambron, you are obviously quite happy with the customer service at Pass, but what do you think of the amp in terms of sonics ? Sean>
Use of Ferrite Cores for EMI Reduction???
You can buy a "billion" ferrite clamps in various sizes from either Digi-Key or Mouser ( can't remember which ) for the price of one small package of the Audioquest stuff. Do a search through the old Greg Weaver articles on Soundstage and he even ...
Best all-around cartridge for 500.00 new
Try contacting Clearaudio directly or call Bes at Music Direct. I had a brief conversation with him about these cartridges as i too was somewhat interested in them. From what he described them as sounding like ( nothing like the stereophile review...
Goertz MI2 with Sim I-5
Yes, you will need the zobels with the Perreaux or it will cook itself to death. Good luck and please respond back with your results. I'd be curious to see which you like better. Sean>
Buggtussel speakers: a "sleeper" hi- end spker?
Albert, if you listen as intently as you are visually observant, i have no doubt that your system sounds phenomenal : ) Sean>
What can the front baffle for spkrs be made from?
AudioXpress ( www.audioxpress.com )just had a very detailed article that tested over a dozen different combinations for baffle materials. While the best choice would be something that was infinitely light and rigid ( which doesn't really exist or ...
Mapleshade "CLEARVIEW DOUBLE HELIX" speaker cables
From what i can tell, these cables simply look like a smaller gauge solid core enameled copper arranged in a twisted pair. Is this correct ?If it is, i would expect it to have excellent clarity and speed. Midrange should be quite lucid and liqid w...
amp dies in middle of playing
Have you changed speakers or speaker cables ? If using a combination that is more reactive, the amps' protection circuitry could kick in sooner. Otherwise, it is not uncommon for circuitry to degrade with age. This is especially true if exposed to...
Use of Ferrite Cores for EMI Reduction???

Great sound at high volume
Several factors to consider:Sensitivity: The more sensitive the speakers ( higher spl with one watt ), the more likely they are to play loudly while still sounding relatively clean. Sensitivity is something that you should put a LOT of importance ...
Anyone use a POWERED SUB with Center Channel?
I was thinking about adding a 12" woofer to my center channel ( have a spare driver that matches my mains and two subs ), but it would probably be overkill. I've already got two 8's in a pretty big box ( appr 45" wide X 20" deep ), so they go pret...
either DAC or transport is giving troubles...
Have you tried switching the interconnects between the DAC and the preamp from right to left ? This would tell you if it is one of the cables. If the transport or digital cable were the source of the problem, i don't think that the DAC would lock ...
Who would like to see a "Tube" section
With all the varieties of tubes and their various operating conditions, this may be a can of worms that Audiogon doesn't want to deal with. I have already seen disputes regarding tubes that were purchased and advertised here on A-gon. As with any ...
Digital Interconnect - Silver?
The first silver digital cable that i mentioned was a Tara with Teflon insulation. Simply sounds like a higher resolution copper cable. It did a very nice job, especially considering what i paid for it. Sean>
