Digital Interconnect - Silver?
I kind of found out ( by accident ) that i typically prefer Silver digital cables. I had bought quite a few various digital cables, most of them used and all of them copper as far as i knew. Out of the bunch, there was one that was really much mor...
Need Help - PS Audio IV H PreAmp
You can simply slice the damaged trace and remove it at the point of damage. Replace it with wire that would be sufficient to pass enough currrent and solder point to point. Drop me a direct email if i can be of further help. Sean>
Goertz MI2 with Sim I-5
Glad to hear it. Hope you like the cables. Keep in mind that if they have the factory terminated silver spades on them, you will need to clean them once in a while. They do oxidize, but silver oxide is conductive. Not a big deal, but something to ...

Best all-around cartridge for 500.00 new
I agree wholeheartedly with the majority of your observations. I also shouldn't be "knocking" any comments regarding trying to help someone or promote the use of vinyl. For that i apologize. Since many people are jumping back into vinyl with "cold...
Upsampling / Oversampling DAC
I agree RC. Personally, I don't foresee SACD hanging around too long. I could be wrong but only time will tell.I do find it kind of funny that it took SOOOO long to achieve the current high level of reproduction that we have. After all, CD was mar...
How long do you keep a component?
To be a TRUE "audiophile", it is time for a product to leave the premises when dust settles on it. As such, you've got to pack it up and move it out the door at a 50% loss from retail pricing. If you can't keep up with the latest products as they ...
Buggtussel speakers: a "sleeper" hi- end spker?
I have never heard the speakers but have talked to Kevin in person before. He seemed like a very knowledgable guy and was an avid enthusiast. I think that he would invest that love and knowledge along with a great amount of personal pride into his...
Best all-around cartridge for 500.00 new
Maxgain, sorry if you took that personally. While i did specifically respond to several points that you commented on, i was simply trying make an alternative suggestion. As such, i made some direct comparisons between the Stanton and the Shure. Si...
Gain matching of power amps
Sorry to take a step backwards here, but the difference between using a good quality active crossover and bi / tri / quad amping and passively multi-amping with passive crossovers is STAGGERING to say the least. More "junk" in the signal path ( ac...
Need Some Advice About Indoor Antennas
Swampwalker is trying to alert you to the fact that you will have to orient the MD whip for the best reception on your favorite station. If you listen to several different stations coming in from different directions, your plan with the horizontal...
Does Cary stack up to ARC
I would imagine that the Cary would fare much better at lower listening levels as it would still sound relatively full-bodied and quite lush. As you know, most systems tend to thin out as volume is decreased. On the other hand, the ARC gear will t...

Speaker Cable for Interconnect
I think that the PBJ's use double grounds and one hot. From what i can recall, the grounds are connected at both ends, so there is no "drain wire" in this design. I have some on my burner, so i'll take a look tomorrow and correct this if it's wron...
NAD takes on the Krell Beast 1800 vs 6700??
Chances are, the Krell would improve markedly if you were to leave it powered up continually. The same could probably be said about the NAD, but probably not to the same extent. There are good combinations, mediocre combinations and bad combination...
