Ikeda IT-407 tonearm geometry
@chakster Before you recommend something you should check out the two protractors that I use. The Dr Feichert is known to be very good. The two that I mentioned are just better as I stated they have the mirrored hologram. I find this is the only w...
Why no interest in reel to reel if you're looking for the ultimate sound?
@kgbspy Analog, whether tape or vinyl,  has a flaw of noise or hiss. Digital is quiet but  has the flaw that it doesn’t sound as good as analog. So many of us accept the noise and learn to tune it out to have the more superior sound quality.
Cartridge alignment with non slotted headshell?
@chakster Check out my next question about Ikeda it407.
Cartridge alignment with non slotted headshell?
I guess we choose what we want. Slotted headshells if we want the versatility to achieve perfect alignment with our protractor.  I have found that unless a mirrored protractor like Smartractor or Mint LP protractor that has the hologram lines unde...
Cartridge alignment with non slotted headshell?
@chakster “Even if there are no lots there are at least 2-3 pairs of fixed treated holes for mounting screws and this is how you can adjust overhang altering position of the cartridge, but you can;t twist it. This is indeed not ideal if your canti...

If I could buy those $500 tapes for $100, I’d be all over this. Even though that’s way more than I’d pay for a record. I do own a B77 but no prerecorded tape so it’s not used much.
built-in phono stages -- good idea?
Emt tables are built in. I think Walker Audio tables  almost do this  by connecting the arm wire directly to the phono amp. It’s just not convenient enough to be viable option. Even the best design isn’t necessarily easy to market.

@nandric What are you talking about? Is it just me. Sorry, I’m not meaning to sound rude. Am I the only one that doesn’t follow what your trying to say?
A Soundsmith Re-tip Believer
@larry5729.    This is what people said in the 80’s. I wanted digital to replace vinyl too, but it didn’t. If it did for you, that’s great. But for many of us the expense and effort is worth it for the better performance. The same goes for people ...
Miyajima Zero Mono on Technics 1200G
I have a new miyajima premium BE that will go nicely on my Ikeda tonearm. Not for awhile though as I have other cartridges  to try first. I heard it at a friends many times playing on his Fidelity Research fr64s. It sounded really great on that ar...
Miyajima Zero Mono on Technics 1200G
Chakster is right,  but it’s up to you. It will still work and might sound ok. It just won’t sound its best. It’s part of the learning process to learn from making mistakes. I prefer myself to read these forums and learn from others, and avoid was...
Cartridge recomendation for Garard 301 and Ikeda IT-345CRI
There is no Japanese warm sound. Koetsu is Japanese and warmer. Then you have Lyra, Zyx and many others that are the opposite. And the majority of cartridges are made in Japan anyways. I would recommend a slightly warmer quality for your style of ...
Hear my Cartridges....🎶
Palladian on Raven on my end sounds better than Victor. But I would probably  give the tonearm the more credit here. More full bodied and smooth. What do you think? You know your tables sound characteristics. Do the tables using the same tonearms ...

@halcro i see you started out with comparing the AT-ML180. Sorry I don’t know why I missed that. And the discussion discussed what I asked. Thanks.Steve.
