Hear my Cartridges....🎶 @halcro  I meant to put your name on my previous post too. Also, how did your AT-ML180 hold up in comparison to the  other cartridges compared? | |
Turntable and Arm Combination in 5K range (maximum) @cleeds I meant to say thin platters. Most arms stand to tall for some direct drives and the arm boards must be recessed lower than the top of the plinth. This is seen often on sp10. The reed arms are able to be adjusted  lower than most other arms.
Hear my Cartridges....🎶 @ @chakster I guess my AT-ML180 ofc may be Boron. It’s gold plated. But if you look at the first and second comments Chakster made at the beginning of this. He says the occ comes with gold plated beryllium cantilever. And the ofc is gold plated bo...
Cartridge recomendation for Garard 301 and Ikeda IT-345CRI A dealer that doesn’t sell Miyajima told me once that he’s never heard a Miyajima he didn’t think was excellent. | |
Hear my Cartridges....🎶 @halcro I did listen with my computer speakers to some also. It just wasn’t good enough to make a judgement like others could. Yes, like many others I find myself with much time on my hands now.  Spent the last three three years building my new bu...
Direct Drive vs. Idler Drive vs. Belt drive I have a Garrard 301 grease in Woodsong plinth, EMT 948, and Kuzma Reference (belt/suspended). I like to think I love all my children equally. But if I had to sacrifice one it would be the Kuzma. | |
Art Dudley passed away. Rest in Peace Sad to hear. One of the originals from way back. I always enjoyed reading his articles and reviews. I thought about it and didn’t realize i followed his reviews for so long. He help inspire me to take vintage gear serious.
Turntable and Arm Combination in 5K range (maximum) Chakster’s recommendations for vintage direct drive and reed 2a. Less options but not far behind the 3P. This is from info from someone in the industry that I trust that knows both arms well. Also the Reeds don't stand too tall and mount nicest on...
Hear my Cartridges....🎶 It took awhile but I read the whole thing. Thanks for sharing. Im not setup to listen to this properly with headphones but appreciated everyone’s comments. And I must say, excellent writing. I’ve been following your crowd for years and just recent...
Hear my Cartridges....🎶 @frogman I’ll read through tomorrow, you probably already stated this, but what arm did you use to compare these cartridges? Steve.
Cartridge recomendation for Garard 301 and Ikeda IT-345CRI In the similar price range my Dynavector xx2 also plays nice in my ikeda. Two very different presentations though. The spu royal n and xx2. | |
Direct Drive vs. Idler Drive vs. Belt drive @thuAnd curious about tonearm on your EMT?
Are 500 hours too many for a used hi-end cartridge? @millercarbonI don’t understand why people waste their  time writing nonsense. And worse,  I end up wasting my time reading it. And then waste more time writing about it. | |
How good is the Micro Seiki DDX-1000 Direct Drive turntable ? @chakster Here’s the size;938 19 3/4w X 17 1/2d948 18w X 18 3/4 dWhere the 948 is larger is plinth is 6.5 height vs 4.5 for 938. The 948 is removable cards like 950 and 938 is built as one unit.
How good is the Micro Seiki DDX-1000 Direct Drive turntable ? @lewm The 927 is so expensive and rare I disregarded it as an option for emt. The 930 is regular size and sort of affordable as a possibility for an idler by emt. |
