There was a thread somewhere about the oldest piece of gear in one's system, which, in my case, is a Thorens TT from around 1974/5. Anyway, if you like the sound of your gear, and it's working ok, why bother? One other thing: how more components i...
What other obsessions do you have?
Guys...... (deep, fatherly voice)...... We're here to enjoy ourselves, and learn something. And what have we learned today? That we grow up, earn more money, buy bigger toys, but we're only bigger boys. Let everyone post an off-topic thread if the...
Congratulations to Marco

Whats on your turntable tonight?
I'm in a bad mood, just one of these days..... probably Slayer. Sorry, neighbours!

Studio monitors.... The ones I used to listen to in my recording days were the ones like Dynaudio's, old B&W 801's and some active stuff like ATC's and Genelec. They had in common that they sounded very analytical, a bit harsh, could go incred...
Sell or keep my Turntable
If I were you I wouldn't sell it. You think you will get back to your records one day - that means you need something to play them. The Rega with arm is pretty good, and I really liked the K9. So at present, you have a pretty decent TT, and who kn...
Hasselblad 503CW or Bronica SQ-Ai
Oh no, you guys beat me again!! BTW Marco, I was the one who suggested a link between photography and audiophiles. It's funny that, just as with audio, the equipment gets named. Maybe it's a little bit Freud? No offense guys, just jealous, 'cause ...
Thank You, to the Person Who Helped You the Most.
I would liketo thank every contributor on Audiogon, since they showed me my place: I'm not as sick as some, but sicker then aothers..... But seriously, I enjoy reading most posts, whether or not I agree. I learn, come here to amuse myself (there i...
Any way a preamp can drive small speakers?
The pre could, if it was driving active small speakers....
Hasselblad 503CW or Bronica SQ-Ai
If cost is no object, go for the Hasselblad. If it is, go fot the Bronica. By the way, the best pictures I ever shot were black and white, shot with a Practica MTL-5...... So it's not the camera, it's the man behind it who determines the quality. ...
my $686 stereo system, laugh if you want...
Bottomsup: I'm jealous, that's a great system to play around with. And as fot the wife-thing: shop around, maybe you can buy another one at the next garage sale? Or is having two women around a bit much?
What does Holographic mean to you?
Sean, you're knowledge scares me :). May the Force be with me......
