any suggestion for a narrow mini receiver
The TEAC Reference series are nice, the Denon DM-series are also pretty good. You could try something like a Linn Classic all in one, or the Linn (sorry, can't remember it's name) all in one for surround. Don't let the all in one concept put you o...
Your First Hi-Fi Hankering?
Don't know any models, but it was some top-of-the-range Akai (sorry....) stereo, with loads and loads of buttons and lights and some huge fourway speakers. And no, I didn't buy it since then I couldn't afford it, and now I don't want them.....
Upgrade from C320BEE for maggie
As I recall, the C320BEE has a preamp output, so you could be shopping around for a (used) NAD poweramp.
NAD 270/NAD C350
Although I really like NAD (I had a 317 for years) I think you would be better of looking for something else. NAD is very good in delivering loads of power and stability for the money, but I don't think their pre amps (or the pre in an integrated)...
HELP requested for system setup analogue source
Two mono poweramps buzzing..... it could either be the transformers physiscally humming, which can be solved by (TURN OFF THE POWER!!!!!) tightening the nut in the middle of each transfomer gently, or it could be that they have a ground loop. Plug...
Creek and Rega Remote Systems Compatible
A lot of manufacturers use the Philips RC-5 infrared codes. As a rule: manufacturers who use Philips cd-transports will use RC-5, and since it is cheaper to build one kind of remote, their amps etc. will use the same code. The same principle goes ...
Suggestions for the best SS amp for Tympani 4a's
I've heard them with some Accuphase mono's, and it sounded wonderfull. Source was a Oracle Delphi/Air Tangent/Ortofon MC3000, and after I heard that, I wanted to throw all of my gear out of the window.
Marantz 6000 OSE direct to amp?
I think a passive preamp, basically a box with a volume knob and and a pair of in/outputs, would be the right solution for you. The English brand Creek makes a good, affordable one, and I've heard some good things about Jolida.I only wonder about ...
Am I crazy - tube pre-amp with receiver??
Hi Matthew, I don't think this approach will sound better. You would basically be using two pre-amps, the external one and the one built in in your receiver. An input on a pre-amp is designed to take a certain kind of input, let's say 500 mV. It w...
How good is phono stage in Musical Fidelity A300?
I feel the MF phono os not as worse as in most integrated amps, but could (and will) be bettered by an external phono-amp. However, having extended experience with the Technics 1200 (standard) I feel a better turntable would be more appropriate. A...
will a power amp NAD 216 add any improvement
The power rating doesn't matter much, it's the gain of the power amp that matters most. The power rating gives an indication of the maximum sound pressure you can achieve, where in this case the 216 will be able to achieve a higher max. sound leve...
will a power amp NAD 216 add any improvement
Yep, that will be a big improvement. The good thing is that it will more or less match the sound of your NAD T753, but will have much more power and control, which is just what the Linn's like. Also your normal stereo sound, provided you use the 2...

Spectacular Drum Set?
On the Joe Jackson record Heaven and Hell is a piece (anger) where two drummers are playing the same part, one on the right, and one on the left. Turn it up, and you'll be blown away. Probably your neighbours as well.....
NAD AV 316 vs NAD C 350
Andreas, it seems pretty easy to me. You have both amp's, so you can compare them in your own room with your won stuff. If the 316 sounds better, then use it. Equipment is there to make you appreciate your music more, and age, price, features etc....
