Cartridge Experts Stringreen, are you trying to say if I'm not an artist I should mind my own business? If everyone listened to that advise nothing new would ever happen.
Cartridge Experts Got it. I was not sure which post you were referring to. I imagine there could be alot of money in the cantilever enlarging business. Anyone want to be an investor?
Cartridge Experts Nandric, It would not be the first time. ;) Why do you say that?
Cartridge Experts Yes, I saw that on his site. One problem with short cantilevers is the cart will bottom out on warps easier. Before I had to be careful that the coils did not hit the warps in records. Now there is more clearance. I think it sounded better with th...
audio technica AT-150 mlx stylus in AT-440 body If you look up replacement stylus for at-440 it says atn150mlx will work. So yes I believe so.
Cartridge Experts Thanks Doak, I will put it on my list of carts to hear. It is a very interesting design.
Cartridge Experts Doak, That is interesting. Does the Decca track well compared to the other carts you have owned?

Speaker suggestions at around $30k What size room will these go in? If you have room I vote for Soundlabs. I also like Vandersteen 7. Also Vienna Acoustics Die Musik are sweet as well.
Turntable speed accuracy Hiho, The motor was grounded. I am not the only one with a hum problem on their Classic. There is a thread about it on this forum.
Turntable speed accuracy (quote)Sarcher, What is the evidence that the hum is (or was) due to the motor/cartridge interaction? (/quote)The hum occured when the tonearm was swung over the platter in both cases. With the motor off on the Classic there was no hum with the to...
Turntable speed accuracy Lewm, The Artemis is an interesting design. I have not heard one yet.I had hum caused by the motor on a VPI Classic and a LP12. The Classic's motor is on the front left. Maybe if the motor was placed in the rear it would have been better. The LP12...
Turntable speed accuracy Good point Ketchup. The belt is more likely to slip on the capsan than the platter. Of course if it uses a sub platter that problem is reduced. |
