Using Internet Coaxial Connection as Tuner Antenna Well you don't have to buy a splitter to try it. If it works great if not you saved yourself from wasting money on a splitter. That said most likely the jack you used in the 80's was hooked up to an antenna not cable. The cable tv jack should not ...
Proper tracking force for the AT 150 MLX Mine tracks good at 1.3 to 1.4 grams. I would try a little more VTF.
Shielding components from EMI/RFI... Help please Jim, Interesting article. Do you think it would be worth while to have a second ground rod installed? It seems that even an eight foot ground rod would be difficult to install without drilling a hole first.Sean
Shielding components from EMI/RFI... Help please Well I read the Whitlock paper and it explains it quite nicely. Thanks for the link.
Shielding components from EMI/RFI... Help please Almarg, I've always wondered about the code to use only one ground rod as well. I have never heard an explanation. Usually people say you can't do it but never explain why. I will have to read that paper you linked to.
What happened? Contact VPI. I'm sure they will send a replacement. I would not try to glue it back on. It might unbalance the platter. It may be unbalanced without the insert as well.
Shielding components from EMI/RFI... Help please Sounds like you made some worthwhile improvements. Your conclusions seem to support the idea of separates. I have separates in my system and some even have separate power supplies. I'm a believer. It is interesting that with some careful shielding ...
Spectron vs any good tube amp. I've only heard the Spectron once at RMAF. It sounded nothing like a tube amp. I don't remember if they were using a tube pre or not. It was not my cup of tea. Maybe in a different setting it would shine I don't know. The best switching amp I've h...
Shielding components from EMI/RFI... Help please Almarg, I have heard of interconnects with the shield only connected on one end. I was not sure if that arrangement would work in this application. Thanks again.Sean
Channel imbalance question Leave the cart leads reversed. Then swap the tonearm cables around. Is it still balanced after that?
Are the JL Fathom subs really that good.... Larry, I completely agree with you on bass being somewhat directional. If I had to go back to using a sub I would buy two and set them next to the speakers aimed at the listening position. In my car the sub is behind the seat and crossed over at 6...
SET sound without a lot of money IMO Vienna Acoustic speakers are not tube friendly at all. If you can borrow a tube amp you will hear what I mean. The tonal balance will be off because of the impedance swing of the speakers. If you can get one with a free trial then it might be ...
Shielding components from EMI/RFI... Help please I installed my shielded cat6 today. I think it made a slight improvement but it could just be my imagination. I had to reboot my NAS and Linn DS afterward. It takes a long time for the NAS to reboot so it makes it difficult to do a proper A/B comp...
24 feet DIN to XLR phono cable for Graham Phantom? I have an Allnic H3000 and it does not have xlr inputs. It has xlr outputs. Did you have xlr inputs added as an option?I see no reason why you could not just put the Allnic by the TT and run xlr from it to your intergrated amp.
Shielding components from EMI/RFI... Help please Bc, I should get my cat6 tomorrow. I will report back if I hear any change. I have my doubts though. Please let us know how your projects work out.P.S. I like your real room. Nice and tidy. If not for the speakers you would not know an audiophile ... |
