Is louder better?
The room will have a say too.Low volume works well with bad rooms/very little acoustic treatment. You can listen louder and longer in better rooms. There's a sweet spot in my room probably because my room is lacking. But at least I can listen well ...

How Do You Store Your Record Collection? Recommendations Please!
Go to Mapleshadestore.comThe LP racks are solid oak/maple/walnut.They are stackable. Each module holds 150 LPs.They’re made by Amish people...quality is great.I added a white oak top and put my amp and turntable on there. Add one oak shelf to a mo...
Most rooms don’t need acoustical treatment.
I know some smart people who think that this acoustic stuff is nonsense. Much of what we see influences our perceptions. 'I can see the stereo equipment...that I spent all this money on...so yeah, it sounds better...it looks expensive...it must so...
Which to upgrade first: Turntable or Phono Preamp
Get the Technics 1200GR.If getting a phono stage first:I like really like my Project phono box RS $1700 with outboard self-charging battery power supply. Has XLR outs, is very quiet and detail rich. It is dual mono...settings for both channels and...

Most rooms don’t need acoustical treatment.
I set up my room using acoustical principals but without using specialized products. I don't have any glazed pictures in the room. The art on my walls are wood carvings and tapestries. It's relatively balanced. I've done this so many timesI feel I...
Brand new Technics SL-1210GR platter wobble ... disappointed!
This might be the first time I've seen a problem like this with a Technics turntable ever. And since they sell a kajillion of these... probably more than all the other brands combined and then tripled, maybe this is not so bad as some would make i...
Phono Stage, How much do I need to spend, New or used.
I have a Phono Box RS ($1000). It is excellent and often looked over.Get the outboard power supply for it ($700)... don't use the wallwart. It is quiet.
Technics 1200G phono recommendations
I have a 1200G. Excellent turntable.I use an AT VM740 ML. It's a dual moving magnet microline cartridge. I like it better than the pricier 750ml. It's a good match for the tonearm. For phono stage, I'm using a Project Phono Box RS. It is their best...
