Floor Standing under $1000 Polk vs Paradigm
Haven't compared the two, but I love paradigm. Great value.
Speaker jumper configuration
If I follow this correctly, you are connecting the upper negative terminal with the lower positive terminal. If I'm not mistaken, you are essentially shorting out the speaker when you do this with a standard crossover. What are you trying to accom...
Sophia 2 vs. Vandersteen Quatro
Have not heard the Vandersteen. Although I'm sure it's quite good. The wilson is fantastic. Expensive, yes, but good sound will cost you a little. Steve, just because you don't understand the idea behind a 7" driver doesn't mean it doesn't get the...
Monitor VS Floor Standing Speaker?
There is a difference between full range and good bass. I don't know very many floor standing speakers that are a true full range speaker. (20-20,000Hz) Good bass (read: quality bass) can be had in monitors. It may not go as low as some floor stan...
What has been your most satisfying component?
I have two. The audio refinement complete. I've managed to own it five different times. I've sold and rebought. I think I'm sticking with it now. Even if I choose to go with another amplifier. The second one is a mint condition 1978 Yamaha T-1 tune...
Suggestions for an integrated amp?
One more thing, the MF X150 is a great amplifier as well. And, come to think of it I prefered my x150 over my A3. It has more power and I feel is more refined. Those are even harder to find and sell quickly. But, if you can grab one, that would be...
Suggestions for an integrated amp?
You're right. My fault, I usually pick up on that. I've had great success with the audio refinement and B&W (CDM 1NT). I've also had great success with the A3 and signature 805's)I guess it depends on how much you want to spend. I think the AR...
Single speaker wire on bi-posts with jumpers...??
I run the positive on the top and the negative on the bottom. Each system will be different.
Suggestions for an integrated amp?
What's the rest of your system? The A3 is great. I've owned one. One of my other favorites in that price range is the Audio Refinement Complete.
Uh Oh, Not another Bi-Wire thread...
I say spend the most you can on single wire. If you funds are unlimited, then go for top of the line biwire.
Integrated under 1K new/used
YBA design (after audio refinement died) would be a good match for your Monitor Audios. Don't know if they can be had used yet. But, the price new is 1500 so I expect a used piece to be under 1000 dollars..
What about 2 separate audio systems as one?
isn't this what quadophiles do?
Movies that featured High End equipment
Friends also had, a little later in the show, a pair of Blue Room mini pods.High Fidelity used an NAD cd player and also a pair of Klipsch bookshelfs in the store.
Best audio cabinet for people with pets
All cats are different. Watch it first to see if it bothers any gear. I have one that doesn't scratch anything, stays away from all my equipment, and just sleeps all day, and all I night, I think..
