Just got AQ Niagara 1200 ... On the other hand, has anyone tried the Furutech GTO-D2 NCF? These are the only 2 power strip/conditioners that I have in mind. My current upgraded BPT PPC is working fine but I'm just curious if the Audioquest Niagara 1200 or Furutech GTO-D2 NCF ...
Just got AQ Niagara 1200 ... Need help. Has anyone compared the Niagara 1200 to BPT PPC (with upgraded Oyaide R1 plugs and Bybee Quantum purifiers). I'm currently on the BPT PPC and was wondering if the Niagara 1200 will improve things or the performance would be more or less...
Furutech FI-48 NCF (R) vs. FI-50 NCF (R) Thanks for the response hm9001. Certainly useful information. The FI-48R is out. Perhaps I'll look at FI28R and S032N.
From McIntosh to Yamaha You should try a PROPER 2-channel amp from Yamaha, Luxman or Accuphase. You may be surprised that some of these integrateds especially the higher range models can match or surpass the performance of costlier pre/power from other amp manufacturers.
What tube amp for Harbeth 40.1 If you don’t listen to rock or demanding music which has lots of transients and burst of dynamics, or music with a lot of deep thumping bass lines, a low to moderate powered amp would be fine. Perhaps that is the reason you find the flea-powered A...
Furutech FP-3TS762 or FP-TCS31 I'm going to try the S032N with Furutech FI-48 NCR (R) very soon. It will be used on the amp hence the selection of the S032N over S022N. I have high hopes this will bring a noticeable if not significant difference or improvement to the system.
Furutech FI-48 NCF (R) vs. FI-50 NCF (R) I’m interested in this as well and it is unfortunate the are no replies to this thread. I have shortlisted DPS4.1 but am clueless with the plugs. I want the best bass I can get, neutral and open midrange and airy highs. I was hoping to skip FI-50 ...
Harbeth P3ESR metal tweeter One can only find the P3ESR to sound too smooth in the treble, in other words lacking in sparkle and excitement, or the sound is just right. It won’t sound bright even if you use the brightest sounding amp or cables on the P3ESR or any Harbeth for...
Focal sopra 2/Gryphon Diablo 300 not good match Too many posts. Assuming room is not the problem to the high listening fatigue and bright treble. 1. Get rid of Gryphon and try Luxman L-590AXII to drive Focal. 2. Get rid of Focal and try Marten speakers. Personally I would get rid of the Focal s...
unbeatable Class A integrated I've said it earlier and will say it again. The Luxman L-590AXII (yes it's Class A) is gold. It's very good at its price range. I haven't listened to the costlier options but the Luxman can qualify as an endgame amp, the last amp that you'll ever ...
Most organic / real / analogue sounding DAC (ideally with Volume Control) for $1500?????? Chord Mojo and Benchmark DAC sound like hell? That’s quite an exaggeration there. What speakers are you using?
Which wire has biggest impact?/ The general recommendation is to spend 10% the cost of the entire system on cables. This would include the speaker cable, interconnect, power cord, USB, digital and other types of cable. Personally I have spent about 25% the cost of my entire syst...
Powered Speaker Cables Sounds like one may risk getting electrocuted by these things.
Curious USB cable VS. Wireworld Platinum Starlight 7 USB cable That’s good to know Ozzy. I’ll go with the Wireworld Platinum Starlight 7. I’m currently using Wireworld Ultraviolet which came free with the DAC purchase many years ago. Looks like it is time to upgrade the USB cable as it mustn’t be good if it’s...
Curious USB cable VS. Wireworld Platinum Starlight 7 USB cable I am a bit late to the party. I have shortlisted both Curious USB and Wireworld Platinum Starlight 7 USB and after a quick check found this thread. After reading the responses here I'm still clueless whether to go with the Wireworld or Curious. |
