Sonus Faber Sound? A little late for this posting but I read with interest of this topic. To each his own. I own the Grand Pianos and would agree with Goatwuss on the Sonus Faber glow sound. They sounded generally on the warm side and was a real pleasure to listen to...
Speakers to replace Monitor Audio Studio 20SEs Guess the lack of response here is due to unfamiliarity of your Monitor Audio Studio 20SE's. They were great speakers indeed and the reviewers of What-Hifi UK had been using them as their long-time reference since their first introduction. You hav...
the best bookshelf speakers for Krell400 xi You didn't mention music preferences and budget. I would recommend that you look at B&W 805S which will be a good partner to your Krell 400XI. As the previous poster has suggested, an audition is essential as you will get different results wit...
Krell KAV-400xi or Bryston B100 SST ? The Krell is a great unit but Bryston amps and PMC speakers have to go together.
Speaker cables being pricier than main speakers The primary purpose of this thread is to know if there's anybody who had their speaker cables more expensive than the speakers itself, having no specific liking or preference for the brand of wires and nothing else. Obviously none from what I see ...
Advice on Arcam You've got pretty good responses and I'll add a little of my own here. The ARcam ALpha 10 was my first integrated amp and having listened to the Alphas 8 & 9, the former is a better amp with greater dollops of power and refinement. However, I ...
PMC speakers vs B&W... has anyone compared? Scottr gives good suggestions. PMC speakers do sound great with Bryston electronics. It's a matter of preference which is better but I would prefer the clean and uncoloured presentation of the PMC's over the B&W's.
The most detailed speaker cable?? In my system, the brightness of the Nordost Blue Heavens complements the warm nature of my Sonus Faber Grand Pianos perfectly.
Good match with Sonus Faber Grand Pianos The SF Concerto Grand Piano at 87dB are more difficult to drive than the GP HOMES. Bearing in mind the poster of this thread owns the original version of the GP's, a healthy dose of quality power is needed to drive those speakers. They sounded lam...
question to Plinius Amp owner In class A the sound is slightly more palpable than in class AB thus rendering the music to be more enjoyable to listen to. However, in my findings, extensive and prolonged listening sessions in class A will render the sound quality to be almost s...
Denon POA-2800 vs. Sony TAN-90ES Sony,I have the Sony TAE-9000ES and TAN-9000ES for HT duties and they lived up to my expectations. They perform admirably well in my Home Theater setup. However, they couldn't hold a candle light when it comes down to 2-channel. I have the Plinius...
Review: Classe Audio CAP-100 Amplifier The CAP-100 was a good little integrated that performed admirably well in the first few years of my upgrade frenzy. It was used to drive my B&W CDM1SE's mini-monitors and they sounded pretty good with a sound that's warm and airy. Well, time m...
Good match with Sonus Faber Grand Pianos Same old replies from SF Grand Piano owners and I'll add one here myself. I own the GP's and have upgraded my amplification a couple of times before settling for the PLinius SA-100MkIII. I have used a Classe CAP-100 and ARC D130 on the GP's and th...
classe cap 100 vs classe cap 151 Undoubtedly the 151 is better but if you do not need the power, the 100 will perform admirably well. I once used the CAP-100 to drive the B&W CDM 1SE's and was quite impressed with the sound quality. You can basically pick up a used 100 for co...
B&W Nuatilus Armandito, sorry for being petty but it's not "Nuatilus" or "Natalius". Hope you can get the spelling right since you already own the N802 together with the matching center and rears.Bet you will enjoy your system more than ever now. Happy hunting... |
