Little help in cartridge purchase? If you like your original cartridge why not send it to Stanalog and have it repaired. I've had several cartridges rebuilt by them and they are usually better. They send them to Van Den Hull and he replaces the cantilever with a boron one and a Van...
Need Help with Popping Noise from Speaker It sounds like the receiver is popping everytime it locks on to the dolby digital signal when you change stations. Try only hooking up the analog cables or switching the input mode to analog and see if it still happens.
Best connection: composite, digital coax, toslink? Never, in my opinion. The bandwidth is still way past the point of human hearing.
Best connection: composite, digital coax, toslink? His receiver is not going to have glass opitcal or XLR and maybe not coax(RCA). Toslink is fine it doesn't have the bandwidth that coax has but you probably won't notice.
Will Microsoft kill DVD-A and SACD? I have regular CDs that are in surround. Why shouldn't HDCD be able to have surround?
Volume Controls that Accept 12 Guage?? Well, you could unplug the terminal strip and tack solder the wire directly to the pins.
Will Microsoft kill DVD-A and SACD? As I stated in an earlier post, Krell will no longer add HDCD to their processors because Microsoft raised the price too much for the licensing.

The CD player could have toslink or coax but the receiver may only have one or the oth...
MM vs. MC: Sonic Differences? Aren't both of the Clearaudios moving coils, one of them high output and the other low? It has been my experience that the low output moving coil sounds better than the high output version. But, you must have a preamp that has enough gain.
What's up with HDCD? Some don't have the logo on the cover. Some have it on the back and some have it on the disc. I have one that doesn't have a logo anywhere but when I place it in a friends player, the players HDCD indicator comes on.
Need help copying cds Some older burners do not have the option to change the automatic placing of time between tracks
ZERO Feedback talk. Monarchy amps. I have listened to the Monarchy amps in my system and did not like them. But I have a Krell amp that has no negative feedback that I love. You will find that most amps that run in class A do not need the neg.feedback.
What's up with HDCD? Microsoft bought HDCD and are charging a lot more for licensing fees therefore some companies such as Krell have stopped adding it to their products. It is an improvement in sound quality even without a decoder.
Budget DVD-A with good sound? The Toshiba SD-4700 is around your price and it sounds very good.
