Esoteric VRDS-NEO not reading discs None of this helps me to understand what is happening with my K-01. As I said before lasers have limited and unpredictable lifespans. My trusted audio dealer would not buy or sell used CD players for this very reason. You are out of warranty, a...
My 30 Watt class A is louder than my 100 Watt Class AB? I tried to use a Schiit Saga preamp (unity gain) with their Aegir power amp which is on the low side of amp gain. I had to turn the volume up to near max on most recordings to get an average listening level. The Sega has no gain, your source ha...
Why so few devices with BNC's?? This thread is about digital connections! Sorry I didn't notice that until now. The answer is the same though, audio manufacturers are comfortable with RCA connectors and they cost less and do the job.

Why so few devices with BNC's?? BNCs are much more expensive than RCAs. RCAs were designed for an audio signal and the BNCs are usually used for RF signals, although there is some crossover.
Need Inputs on a Modestly Priced SS Preamp - First I'll say that low priced pre-amps will not be your final pre-amp choice but they can work well enough for an enjoyable listening experience. I have a cheap tube pre-amp that I use from time to time and I just can't seem to throw it away even...
McIntosh MX122 died- Need advice It doesn't sound like you will have much luck. I'd get the part number of the board you need and start searching around. That is a problem with computer driven components, if a logic board fails, you'll need a new board and they are always being s...
Has anyone lost a KEF tweeter? If you can't source the correct driver from KEF, you may not have many options. There are many different types of the Uni-Q driver. You may have to buy complete replacement units. Call KEF again and inquire about the cost of replacement units. I w...
Ultimate stereo nightmare I also just looked at your system pictures. Some young fellow will have no problem getting you all patched up. |
