Recommend a good tube power amp in the 100 wpc range for under $4k Crossover does not equalize gain, just distributes these frequencies to this driver ... Active crossovers usually have gain controls, as does the one the OP selected.
Recommend a good tube power amp in the 100 wpc range for under $4k ...do I need to consider a gain control to match level differences resulting from other factors... That is what your crossover does.
Questions to Klipsch Heresy IV owners Triangle loudspeakers in your price range play really well at low volumes, way better than my Heresy IIIs. Also, they are an easy load to drive, my 25-watt tube amp was perfect.
Stylus skipping at beginning of record Do not exceed the recommended tracking force. The recommended tracking force is always a good starting place, but it does not take into account the mass of the tonearm. A heavy tonearm is going to work the cartridge suspension more than a ligh...
Why do Tube Amps sound more romantic v SS amps I’ve yet to experience the “hair on my arms stand-up” playing this track on the Bryston ss amp? When you have a system that works, try to suppress the upgradeitis.
Accuphase E-480 meter flicking New problem? If yes, something has failed.
For Vandersteen owners & lovers: Which other brands do you like? @islandmandan "Music has been a constant my whole life, even though I wasn't able to pursue a carreer in it, it's a major factor in my quality and enjoyment of ilfe. Front Wall with Full length Workbench Shelf It started out a combo light duty wood shop and art studio that’s transitioning to a light duty art studio and listening area. I'd just put them on the workbench and add a sub if you want/need to. I wouldn't spend too much time trying for nirva...
Off-axis listening The sweet spot is the only spot. But you can have a system that makes the sweet spot less prominent but it's never as good as a more critical system. Concerts are mono and there is no sweet spot, it works great until you get way off axis.
SUT - electrical theory and practical experience All these things can be covered by a good phono pre-amp with adjustments for such things.
Do your speakers bite?? Yes, I want loudspeakers that have some jump and aggression when called for, but I would never use the term bite.
To upgrade, or not to upgrade, that is the question It's un-possible to recommend anything with this limited information. If you want a path to upgrade, we need to know the system.
Front Wall with Full length Workbench Shelf It sounds like it is a workshop and not a dedicated listening area, am I wrong?
Stylus skipping at beginning of record I'd also look at tracking force, anything less than 2 grams is suspect.
Accuphase E-480 meter flicking Let's see if I understand what is going on. You have an integrated amp that is working intermittently, and the VU power meter is reflecting a power issue. If that is the case, your amp has failed, and you will need to seek service. |
