Make way for the future.... "...I wish people are not so quick to dismiss a product without learning first it’s capabilities. A good integrated on its own, without a source is just a pretty box..."A great pair of loudspeakers and a good integrated to drive the loudspeakers i...
So Hard to Decide on an Amp "...what is a Crown amplifier these days?..."These are "Pro amps" meant for sound reinforcement systems. Quality home audio, they are not.
Make way for the future.... A useful product but one step up from a table radio. A good integrated and a great pair of speakers will do so much more.
The Sound of Speaker. "...Generally one-type of speaker have the same sound characteristic..."Not in the least bit true. Try to push away your prejudices and listen to more products.
So Hard to Decide on an Amp "...All competently designed amps of sufficient wattage and current, low noise and distortion, with low output impedance will sound like same..."Julian Hirsch Lives!
transistor pre with the sound of tubes A tube preamp is a great way to get started with tube gear.

Anyone have this problem? Not sure I can help but if you are hooked up through HDMI, there are protocols that look for the next device in the chain. Your devices or processor may have a setting that turns off the change of devices.
This is very timely... "...are willing to take on the challenging but rewarding task of learning how these products really work. We need writers who’ve maybe dug into such authoritative books as Vance Dickason’s Loudspeaker Design Cookbook, Floyd Toole’s Sound Reproduct...
The Worst Room... Surprisingly I have had really nice sounding systems in what most would consider terrible rooms. You can't always judge a book by it's cover.
Would you buy a piece of gear with a defect? It would be a pass for me. No discount is worth damaged goods. YMMV.
Soundstage I think the best way to tackle your issues is to move the speakers around until you get the best possible soundstage and frequency response. From there you can make a choice of how much compromise you can accept. |
