CD's vs Vinyl - Finally hear the difference There's the rub: Recording/pressing quality varys widely(whatever the format). Redbook has limitations, independent of that though. XRCD and HDCD both go a long way, to making Digital more listenable. Though many improvements have been made in the...

CD's vs Vinyl - Finally hear the difference Best way to enjoy digital; Don't listen to analog.
Soundstage depth and width The recording chain/venue/pedigree all sound superb. I'd be very interested in hearing the results of all that preparation and care, after subjected to 16/44 digital processing. I'll be seaching for the disc. Thanks for the tip!
Soundstage depth and width YEP! I missed the, "on a CD" part of his question. The discs I mentioned are all vinyls. Redbook CDs just don't capture the piano's dynamics. I don't have any piano on HDCD or XRCD, to compare with vinyl, but suspect those formats would come close...

45rpm pressing of Fleetwood Mac Rumours If you REALLY want to hear the Fleetwood Mac Rumours album, at it's BEST; find a copy of the Nautilus SuperDisc pressing. It's a shame that early 1980's technology sounds so much better than what's available today, and that Nautilus is not still i...
IC's amp-preamp & cd-preamp using Maggies? Work your way up the Synergistic Research, or Kimber lineup. I've got some of each(Synergistic's Analog Tricon, Tesla Apex, and various PCs/Kimber's KS-1130s and KS-1030s) in my bi-amped(Maggie mains) system. My goals have always been the same as ...
Soundstage depth and width Mr M- IF you are interested in educating yourself; you might CAREFULLY study this article: (http://www.deltamedia.com/resource/stereo_microphone_techniques.html) Proper microphone technics CAN & WILL capture hall ambience and sound stage info....
