I had the same results with the SPDIF in stock form. The LPS-1 took away all distortion, bass is better defined, soundstage, imaging, and 3D improved as well. Ric Shultz at EVS does a $65.00 mod to and the results are said to be superb. ...

For a Red Book only CD player look into the Sparkler Audio S503 "spiral" -Smart CD Player. Sparkler Audio was formed when  Kazutoshi Tsukahara left 47 Laboratory and formed 47 Treasure, a short lived kit company that based its designs on 47 labs p...

To answer the OP Charney Audio does a great job with his tractrix designed rear loaded horns. They are both accurate and musical with very low distortion and wide range.  Don't take my word for it listen to them at The Capital Audiofest  next week...
Questions from a Tube Preamp newbie
Picked up a pair of Telefunken 12au7's and a single 12ax7 from Andy Bouwman at Vintage Tube Services this past summer for my integrated amp. (not a Rouge)  Andy is extremely knowledgeable and fair in his pricing. He is a straight shooter and won't...
looking for the best cd transport only, without dac
Transports do sound different! Problem is listening to a lot of them is difficult and costly. So many things can influence the sound coming from one. Inferior parts, bad laser alignment,  digital cable, and inferior power supply to name a few. May...

At one time I had 47 Labs Flatfish transport that was modified to the hilt with a Super Clock, BG caps and upgraded resistors in the internal power supply. It was powered by a very custom and clean battery power supply. This unit was by far the ul...
Searching for the most "accurate" speaker (below 15K)
For speed and accuracy single driver horns are a great way to go. Charney Audio builds full range single driver real loaded horns based on the tractrix theory. I have the Maestro and they will sound awesome in a 200sq’ room. Bass is deep and clean...
Best DAC for my situation...Read on!
Look into the Digital Amp Company DAC (DAC DAC)  coaxial input and XLR Balanced out. I have the TS version and love what it does. Loads of detail without being strident and clear clear bass. Tommy is a great guy to deal with and he has a very fair...

Obscure brands worth considering
Charney Audio in Somerset, NJ. They make full range single driver rear loaded horns based on the Tractrix theory. No steps in the horn just smooth and expanding on all sides. Impressive to listen to and equally impressive to look at...a true work ...

I'm quite interested in what the LPS-1 does for your system. The LPS-1 is a definite improvement over the iPower supplied with the SPDIF Purifier. Bass is fuller, tighter and extended. Highs are extended and clean, not searing! Voices are natura...

Lowrider57,The LPS-1 is installed instead of the iPower using the same adapter cable provided by iFi. The LPS-1 has three settings 3,5,and 7v with the 5v setting for the SPDIF Purifier...
