Non-Oversampling (NOS) vs,
@d2girls : Right on! A clever ploy to get the gullible and neurotic to spend more money!
Break-In is Brutal
@tomask6 : "The connectors I think are particularly brutal." WTF are we talking about here? WWE pro wrestling? Jeez, you believers in "burn-in" have reached a new NADIR!
Vintage Marantz in Geico Commercial
That's a Marantz tuner from the 70's.
Hot CD Stamper?
First issue CDs (not remasters) might be it, according to some people!
Zu Druid 6
I have checked and "fatkit83-8" is NOT a seller on EBay. And "Tube Fantasy" produces nothing of audio worth on EBay.
Vintage Speaker Choice
Large Advents! A true classic from Henry Kloss.
Is my DAC my weakest link?
There is nothing wrong with the AC power coming out of your outlets! Don't fall for all this "power conditioner" B.S. Same for interconnects! Use what you have and enjoy the music! There is NO benefit to raising speaker wire off the floor! Enjoy y...
Doncha get bummed?
+1 moofoo! ECM recordings are worth seeking - both LP and CD! Underappreciated, for sure! I have collected and listened to them since the late 70's!
Pop-up spam is making this site unusable.
+1 theophile! Too bad we can't get paid every time an add appears on the phone!
Hafler DH-220 monoblock vs stereo
I have a Hafler 220 in my collection. It is an excellent and fine sounding amp! No need to replace it!
Hafler DH-220 monoblock vs stereo
Tube amps are a BAD choice for driving electrostatic speakers where the impedance at high frequencies is 1 ohm or less! Also a non-flat impedance curve from low to high frequencies makes them subject to Ohm's Law. Tube amps in general have output ...
Hafler DH-220 monoblock vs stereo
The Accoustat 1 + 1's have an impedance of 4 ohms at low and mid frequencies, falling to <1 ohm at high frequencies. A bridged amp will see a resistance of HALF of these impedances. Therefore DO NOT use a bridged amp with any speaker whose impe...
Aftermarket Power supply’s with Martin Logan ESL
No problem with using the ifi . The 1.5 amp designation means that is the maximum current that can be passed by the ifi device. Your ML speakers only draw less than .4 of an amp. So you are plenty safe using one ifi per speaker. In fact at its 1.5...
Amp or speaker issue?
At what sound level does it happen? Could be the woofers are being overdriven by bass transients. Careful with that volume control when using such a powerful amp!
Good Product or Nonsense?
Same type of scam as green pens and CD mats!
