Need Help with Subwoofer Choice UPDATE: Thanks to everyone for their suggestions. The Rythmik is being returned and, in its place, I've ordered the JL Audio e110. FWIW, the folks at Rythmik so far have been accommodating with the return process. I will keep you posted. The e110 ...
Need Help with Subwoofer Choice @donvito101 ... you're welcome. Not a dig on Rythmik as electronics do fail. However, to have a piece of equipment die after only a couple of weeks just takes the flavor out of it for me and makes me want to start fresh with a different vendor.
Need Help with Subwoofer Choice My beloved wife says I should get the JL Audio E110, which is the higher level model with a 1200 watt amp for $1,500. She says I never buy anything for myself and that I should enjoy my system. I love her, but I don’t know if I can bring myself to...
Need Help with Subwoofer Choice @Mb1audio02 ... don't you have to use a separate xover with the Vandersteen?
Need Help with Subwoofer Choice Yes, shadorne ... I was thinking of the d110. I'd really like the e110 or e112, but the pricing is nuts ... at least the d110 is about $1K, which fits the upper end of the budget. Any experience with the d110?
Need Help with Subwoofer Choice BTW,I saw a new SVS SB12-NSD on Amazon $399 with manfacturer's warranty. It's the recently discontinued predecessor of the SB-2000. Any opinions on this sub? I know it's made in China, but most of them seem to be these days.
B&W 802S Versus 803d3 with subwoofer FWIW, I just got a subwoofer to integrate with my B&W N804s. I think you have to take room size and room treatment into consideration when considering a sub. Also, consider whether you'll be listening mostly to music (sealed sub) or using it m...
Subwoofer Phase Delay Thanks joseph796 ... very interesting and informative.
Subwoofer Phase Delay Fortunately, the room is well treated.
Heard the B&W N804d3s ... Thanks to everyone for their comments and advice. I'm now one very happy camper.
Heard the B&W N804d3s ... Thanks, Scott.
How much power needed for B&W 683? As the owner of B&Ws for 15 years, I can tell you that they are power hungry, and love clean, solid state watts. Tube power amps make them sound flabby, in my experience. I would recommend no less than 150 wpc to get the best out of them.
Heard the B&W N804d3s ... UPDATE ... So, I received the L12 yesterday and have integrated it into my system with a cross-over at about 55Hz. Integration was seamless and quite easy. The L12 has made a huge difference in that: (a) it gives me that extra bit of articulate, b...
Best value in pre-owned preamps right now? This may be fairly old school, but the BAT VK-3i (if you can find one) is off the scale when it comes to sound vs value. I hardly ever see them up for sale as most folks keep 'em ... they're THAT good.
Heard the B&W N804d3s ... @knownothing ... I agree with you that the N804s are basically monitors with built-in stands. The purpose of the sub in this application is not to get the lowest bass possible, but simply to embellish the existing bass slightly. For my very small ... |
