Ok, so what does Phase Inversion actually do??
I have Jeff Rowland equipment and they use a different pin configuration in their balance settings than standard that can cause the phase to be inverted. Speaking with Jeff Rowlands they stated that about half of all the recordings are out of phas...

Has anyone compared the CD 3 Audio Research to...?
I compared the CD 3 to the Cary 306/200 in my system and bought the Cary. I have a large collections of cds and found the upsampling and HDCD Cary more musical and detailed than the CD 3. An added plus is that the Cary can be used as a DAC for oth...
Adding A Remote to a Pre-Amp
I had the same problem when I had a CAT preamp, the CAT is one of the best preamps available but no remote. I purchased a remote from Placette Audio(passive) and it was a perfect match with the CAT. Guy Placette is easily accessible and helpful. G...
CD Recordings..... What Do U Know?
I have made recordings from a Pioneer cd recorder, Fostex pro cd recorder and from a pc. The Pioneer and the Fostex copies sound the same as the source, the pc recordings to me sound less dynamic and more compressed. This may be due to my cd recor...
Best Phono stage for a .3 mv Ruby 2 ?
I also have a PH3 and currently use it as a back up phono. Changing the resistors won't effect the gain just cartridge loading. My current mc cartridge is .4mv and I use a Klye Audio Art phono with it. I have used the Pass phono in the past and ha...
If you had to completely replace your collection..
I have been collecting music since the late 1950's, started with 45s, moved to lps, reel to reel, cds and back to lps. I don't think I would have the heart or energy to replace 40 years of collecting. I guess I would just buy a cheap radio and enj...
Songs that you just have to sing
Two of The Doors songs come to mind, Light My Fire and LA Woman. Love those songs.
Doors remasters vs. DCC golds
I guess I must be one of those die hard fans. I have the first Doors CDs released in the 1980's,, the first batch of remasters, German, Japan, Russian issues, DCC and of course the Doors Box with all the studio albums in HDCD.(Please don't even as...
Best Tonearm Cable Under 600.00
I would take a serious look at the Hovland Music Groove 11, it retails for 795.00 but you should be able to find one used in your price range. They aren't much to look at but I find it one of the best phono cables available. Good luck.
What's everybody listening to this evening?
I am listening to Wayne Hancock's "Thunderstorm and Neon Signs". The best Hank Williams clone to come around in a long time.
What is the best Beatle Song
It's only love from the American Rubber Soul album always does it for me.
Single brand vs. multiple brand ICs and ACs
It has been my experience that cable companies excel at certain cables more than others. For instance,Hovland makes an excellent phono cable(Music Groove), it is hard to beat the Illuminati digital cable, top of the line Discovery speaker and inne...
Guidance regarding 2 female Jazz legends please..
You have picked two of the greats. As a life long fan of Nina Simone I am more familar with her catalog. She transcends many musical styles, jazz, blues, folk, broadway, rock and pop. All of her albums are different and worthwhile. Her current cat...
When is the golden age of high-end audio?
I think that this topic is very subjective without any one answer. For me, the golden age was in the late 50s with push pull tube amplifiers that allowed the change from horn to dynamnic speakers. I was just a boy when I built my first tube amp fr...
