Magico A3 vs. Wilson SabrinaX When I demoed the Magico A3s, for a long period in a good room with good amplification, one of the main off-putting aspects to me was a lack of dynamic life. They were the epitome of the audiophile speaker that disappears, has excellent tone and ...
Thiel Owners Tom,Wow, what surprising and interesting insight in to the end-of-life Thiel business! Thank you!
Thiel Owners Prof - my notes indicate there were about 1000 pair of 3.7s and 1500 pair of 2.7s sold. I'll comment further when I find time.Wow, somehow that strikes me as surprisingly lower than I expected for the 3.7, and higher for the 2.7.
Thiel Owners I've always been curious how many 2.7s Thiel sold, since that was the last model that came out and it was just before Thiel changed hands and went to a new design. So I'm imagining not many.Any idea Tom?
MBL 126 or 120 Bubingaplease remind me: are you on the whatsbestforum too?

True or False? Audiophiles have infinite hearing, allowing them to hear down to ever lowering "noise floors" that no manufacturer’s equipment can measure.Score one for audiophiles.
Looking for Tekna Sonic Vibration Absorbers I actually found my old Tekna Sonic C-10s.I don't have the additional magnetic pads that you would originally stick on to the speaker to hold them on, though. I used to put them on top of a speaker and seemed to hear a difference.
Do you have ways to ease use of vinyl? Interesting thread topic.I try to keep my vinyl as accessible as possible, in open shelves. My turntable is atop one of my equipment racks which puts it at chest height, which I find the most ergonomic both for back/arms and also for easily seeing ...
How many vinyl albums do you own you listen to? I got back in to vinyl heavily about 4 years ago and I've accumulated833 (per my discogs collection).Frankly I've never wanted to own so many records that I didn't listen to many of them and didn't even know what I own. So I've tried to curate m...
Does anyone have any recent experience with Kharma loudspeakers? FWIW, I have a thread in which I give my quick impressions of many speakers I auditioned. Here's what I wrote about my Kharma audition:--------------Back in the day when they became something of the new rage among well heeled audiophiles, I'd h...
Wilson Audio Specialties Chronosonic XVX loudspeaker!! only $300,000.oo $300,000 buys a lot of concerts....you know...live music? Reality? For years....Probably decades...That's a fairly common refrain when high priced speakers come up.But I believe it misses the point. Yes you could go to lots of live music. But ...
Moving up the Harbeth line Good stuff arafiq!I love Harbeth speakers. Easily in my top 5 favorite brands if not higher up.I auditioned the whole line up and eventually owned the SuperHL5plus for a while. When I compared the M30.1 vs the HL5plus, I found the M30 sounded wond...

Can anyone tell me about VERITY AUDIO PARSIFAL I listened to the Parsifals a fair number of times back in the day.My impression was pretty consistent: Nice, refined sound, pretty boxless, smooth, soundstaged imaged quite well, and pretty evenly balanced from top to bottom. So, high quality.... |
