Why is science just a starting point and not an end point? Even understanding in the Biological Sciences has been expanded/deepened, through the studies of QM, regarding how the senses and brain function, in many areas.Like...what?I don’t see Floyd Toole - an actual scientist- appealing to QM in his scien...
Why is science just a starting point and not an end point? rodman99999,"For one NOT to be current, on what's been going on; as regards the inventions and scientific proofs, based on such a, "crackpot theory" as either QM or QED and yet refer to themselves as a, "prof", seems to me: the height of hubris...
Why is science just a starting point and not an end point? Everyone with a pet belief he can't justify empirically tries the same mode of defense. So we wee that tired old refrain from some audiophiles "Science has been wrong before you know!" and "science doesn't know everything!"It's the same refrain us...
Why is science just a starting point and not an end point? This thread is yet another example of an audiophile mistaking his own ignorance of the science for "a failure of science."pedroebTry reading Floyd Toole's book: Sound Reproduction: The Acoustics and Psychoacoustics of Loudspeakers and Rooms It's L...
Thiel Owners "Renaissance 02s" Love it!
Thiel Owners tom,Your modded 02s certainly intrigue me. And your Audio neurology hypothesis sounds plausible. Especially in my case the 02s were my gateway drug in to high end audio, so I'm sure they made an impression on me. It's like the Quad ESL 57 pheno...
Thiel Owners Every time I throw the old Thiel 02s in to my system it tells me that’s the sound I’ve been chasing. Decade after decade. Something about the palpability and tonality of the sound that grabs me every time. For some reason they seem to tell me more...
Hales Transcendence 5 speakers endgame? Yeah the T5s I had were plenty awesome. Super clean, clear, relaxed, dynamic, huge soundstage and killer imaging. Really close to endgame speaker for me.
Boy, Oh Boy! Towshend! As I've mentioned elsewhere I have the Nobsound spring footers, tried them under my Thiels.I was blown away by the effect at first: the speakers just disappeared and soundstaged even better, a sense of distortion was reduced, more insight in to re...
I had a few drinks and bought some speakers, I've now sobered up The "break in" period won't be the speakers, it will be your brain, whether you get used to and end up liking the sound or not, over time.
I had a few drinks and bought some speakers, I've now sobered up Ah, got it, thanks.
I had a few drinks and bought some speakers, I've now sobered up Er...what's a "1028" ?Remember, your audience hasn't memorized every existing brand and model number to know what you are talking about ;-)
Thiel Owners Tom,I don't know if it's been mentioned yet in this thread, but the buzz is back concerning the youtube documentary:One Man's Dream - Ken Fritz DocumentaryAbsolutely insane dedication by a brilliant audiophile to making a massive home system. H...
IsoAcoustics, B&W 805D3, and Harbeth 30.2 But did you try isolation on the Harbeths? ;-)
Boy, Oh Boy! Towshend! I'm not surprised. Having experimented with spring-based footers beneath my speakers the difference was substantial and I intend to order Townshend Isolation Bars at some point. |
