Interconnects and non-believers
playmore,I agree that the debates that are often depicted as "objectivists vs subjectivists" have the character of a religious vs non-believer debate, and they are on the continuum of the debate between religion and science.

^^^^^^^"And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? 11He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. 12For whosoever...

jazzdc,Your analogy seems to presume a rather huge level of incompetency in cable design.  Cables seem to have been well designed to transmit hi fidelity signals for a great many years, so I'm not sure why a system is likely to end up so compromis...

jon,It was around $975 for the 3 drivers.  I seem to remember when I inquired a while back that a single set of 3.7 drivers was a bit more expensive.ron,I wish I could be of more help.  The remasters I've been listening to of Rush are the recently...

My spare drivers for my 2.7s just arrived (coax, woofer, passive).Rob was great with communication and shipping.  Highly recommended! Now I can breath easier when I crank my speakers, which I'm doing all the more these days as I'm re-buying old Kis...
Maybe looking at the following to replace my Magico S-5 MK 1
Jeff,I looked at the Absolute Sound review of the Gauder Acoustic Cassiano (I always like REG's reviews - he always directs the reader to the significance of a particular design aspect and it's effects).REG wrote that the Guader used very steep cr...

batmanfan,Thanks for posting that info form Gary Dayton.  That makes some sense of why I hear the 3.7s as a bit more open and detailed vs the 2.7.The 3.7 also floats instruments better around the speakers when they are panned harder left or right,...

Devilboy, I never said cables always CHANGE the sound. But you wrote:Cables add their own flavor to the Sonic signature of your system. They are in fact, tone controls. How does not imply that when you change audio cables, you change the sound? And...

devilboy,You seem to make some sweeping claims that cables always change the sound and act as tone controls. What do you base that upon?I’m no engineer, but having watched electric engineers hash this cable debate stuff out for many years, many wi...

glupsonYes your points are well taken.I did find the mini-biography MG gave us certainly did go quite a way to explaining the character of his posts and belief system. It’s weird interacting with the Tuners here; no alternative views seem to get "i...

mitch,Indeed.  And if we think this style of blind repetition and rhetorical emptiness is bad enough here...imagine the Tuneland forum! Though perhaps everyone there employs their Third Eye to communicate on a higher level than us mere mortals.

cleeds,That's obviously why I wrote: "In the spirit of exchanging anecdotes."I have tried upmarket AC cords in my system (e.g. various Shunyata)and a couple didn't seem to make any noticeable difference, but one (the most expensive!) did seem to a...

elizabeth,My view on cables isn’t a settled one, but I have hunches and inferences I’ve drawn from my own meagre tests and experience, and from following the cable debate for many years. In the spirit of exchanging anecdotes: I only use the regular...

jf47t,Some of you get it (I think), but the majority of posters still haven’t a clue. Y’know....If I had tried to communicate an idea and the majority of people reading it didn’t have a clue about what I was saying, if I was honest with myself the...
