Contemplating DEVORE SPEAKERS (and others)....LONG audition report of many speakers
Oh man those Horning speakers look nice!  I like the design, the wood finish, and I've always enjoyed that lowther-thing when I've heard it (though with the usual lowther caveats).Would love to hear a pair.  But the ones mentioned in this thread a...

Thanks for your contribution, sisyphus51.  I feel terribly ashamed to have bored you ;-)

rvpiano,I believe you regard science as a kind of religion in itself. Then you believe wrong. Science, and my attitude towards it, is the furthest thing from religion; it’s an anti-dogma stance. (Dogma is pretty much antithetical to learning and k...

Sounds like you guys are looking for even more "life and snap" in your speakers?
Interconnects and non-believers
Speakers need breaking in, capacitors need breaking-in, cartridges need breaking-in, who doesn’t believe that? Who doesn’t believe those things? Generally speaking, from what I’ve seen: You’ll find skeptics among those have relevant knowledge of e...

mbishop63One thing I've found about interconnect cables is you have to be patient through the "break in period". The improvement in sound quality won't be instantaneous but rather a gradual change. Maybe cable manufacturers could find a way to pre...

Thanks Ping.I briefly listened to the Devore X, as I mentioned earlier in the thread. They are too large and too expensive for my needs.  Sounded wonderful from the mids up, though a bit overblown in the lower bass.  I'm sure they can be mostly tam...
Interconnects and non-believers
aalenik,Prof - You (and few others here) need to get over yourself. Again...this is a strangely emotional form of reply. Why?What is so threatening to you, that someone might not believe exactly what you believe? I mean, I dare to give some reason...
Talk but not walk?
Exactly glupson,MG critiqued people as fakes, and that there was absolutely no doubt that there were people here on audiogon faking it, not having done the "empirical testing" to have justified the views they were espousing. When asked to elaborate...

boxer12,"Guys, if you don’t hear a difference... just don’t spend your $$, and let everyone else make their own decisions. You don’t need to make your opinion into a crusade"The above quote is solid advice So you don’t see any "crusading" about th...
Interconnects and non-believers
rvpiano,My response to aalenik was meant to address the general concept of sonic differences between cables.  And since most of that debate centers around the claims of high end cables,  which we all know to be more expensive than the norm - I was...

aalenik,Guys, if you don’t hear a difference... just don’t spend your $$, and let everyone else make their own decisions. You don’t need to make your opinion into a crusade. This is a very common reply and I think it reflects a strange imbalance, o...

jafreeman,IMPORTANT: Use the best available speaker wires and interconnects.Audio Research cannot emphasize this enough. As better components and systems are developed, it becomes increasingly important to avoid the limitations of inferior system ...
